I got a Canadian money order is US dollars. My bank will not cash it and they said to go to a United Sates bank which turns out to be a Riggs bank. When I get there, they only way they could cash it would be to deposit it into an account there. I DON'T HAVE AN ACCOUNT THERE AND DON'T WANT ONE! Sorry for yelling. They will not cash it and hand me the money. I need some help with this. I thought about sending it back to the bidder and telling him to send me US cash in the mail. Please help.

Hi. First off, was this a postal money order? If it is you should be able to cash it at a post office at no charge.
Hope this helps. I cash these all the time with no problem.

Depends on the bank. I've received payments from Canada...
drawn on a Canadaian bank in $US
drawn on a Canadaian bank in $CDN
drawn on a US bank in $US
and my bank cashes them all with no problem. The only kind of payment I haven't received from Canada is one drawn on a US bank in $CDN, but I'm not sure why anybody would even do that.
