Third e-mail recieved in three days cussing me out because the person hasn't received the item they bid on. First, how about sending payment. Not one of the three people have paid me.

Sometimes when a person pays by Paypal or Billpoint they don't enter information correct and the payment doesn't go through, however they don't know that and they then begin to wonder where their item is.New users have problems figuring out Billpoint.

I only accept checks and money orders. This is the first I've had much problem with people saying they have mailed payment (of course there is alway that one deadbeat that mailed the check back in 1914) but for the most part I've never had problems with late mail, etc.

jd> Would these all be new bidders? I must say, I do not have as many transactions as you but I have yet to be graced with an email where someone cussed me out. ***knocking on wood*** When they get a bit porky with me, I just take a deep breath, and try to explain the proccess to them. I had this one winner that said he sent a check and when I wrote and inquired about payment, he flatly refused to send another one. I did not ask him to send another one, but merely asked him to please let me know when he sent it and which bank it was drawn on. He told me that was personal information to which I responded..."if you had sent a check, I would have had your bank information anyway so why be so secretive?" He kept insisting he sent a check although it never cleared his bank, (of course it didn't, he never sent it)and said he was really sorry for any trouble he might have caused me but he flatly refused to discuss it further, and for me to relist. I wrote one last letter and told him..."listen, we sellers have heard every excuse in the book. We did not crawl out from under a rock, and if you are truly sorry for all the time I have spent on this transaction, send me $10.00 for my time and fees. I c/c to safe harbor, and never heard from him again. To date, he has 14 negs for "the check is in the mail" and is naru. Take heart jd! It is all a part of the game.

I'm not sure if this is "on topic" or not, but here's my e-mail story...
I`ve closed on 27 sales in the past couple weeks, and 9 of those chose to pay by check or m.o. This evening I e-mailed those customers to "update" them that because of the flooding here in Houston, the mail delivery has been at a near stand still...the main P.O. downtown suffered a lot of damage, and the postal workers are having to sort the mail the old fashion way...by hand. Because of this delay in receiving mail (payments), there would naturally be a delay in my shipping their goods, and I thanked them for all their patience and understanding...
So, I get this reply...
"Dear Mr. Robnzak,
Thank you for your letter. It smells of fraud not flood water. I have bought many books from you, and gotten excellent service in the past. But now I believe you were just trying to lull me into a feeling of false security so you could take my money and not send me my book. I think you are a crook and I plan to never ever buy from you again."
sincerely, XXXXX
My response...
"Dear XXXXX,
I am so sorry that your trust in me has been shaken, but I must tell you that I sent you that update in error. You paid with Paypal, and your book was shipped to you last Monday.
If you still feel that I am not a trustworthy seller, please let me know and I will immediately refund your one dollar purchase price and the two dollars for shipping. Most sincerely, Rob
Her reply...
"Dear Mr. Rob,
I feel so ashamed, can you ever forgive me? I don`t know what I was thinking. I as so so sorry to have called you a crook.
I am too embarrassed to go on, sincerely XXXX
My reaction to the whole matter...
I CAN`T STOP LAUGHING!!!!!!!!!!

In this new internet world, more and more people are coming online, even those ignorant fools who have grown accustomed to screaming at salesclerk to make themselves feel superior. So thinking it it has something to do with you is simply preposterou @#!!&%#@#@
