Is about 9 inches long, the head is made of hard plastic and the body/tail portion is glass. The head comes off and has a plastic seal. No markings. I am at a loss, with my only sane thought being some sort of bud vase because there is an opening at the fish's lips. Do fish have lips? You don't want to know my insane thoughts. Thanks for your help.

I would bet that it is a cologne decanter - check out avon decanters - I've seen some interesting ones over the years

I thought of Avon too but the "lips" are wide open and the cologne would spill out or evaporate. I guess in trying to explain -- this things is like Jonah and the whale, once you go through the lips there's nothing between you and the tail.

I warned you I was insane.

that is defiently and item called "the frisky fish", it is an adult toy from the late seventies, the last 6 months of 78 to be exact, thats when the adult toy business was going thru its glass and hard plastic phase. looks like it was only used once or twice, you could list it a minty!

You say it's an adult toy that's only been used once or twice and is minty?

How cool and/or disgusting

soothsayer: What a wonderful description! Do you mind if I use it in my auction? I was already thinking of listing in the "totally weird" category and your description fits the bill on that.

mrssantaclaus

seems your experience with these type items may be lacking. not all toys need battaries. the frisky fish for example is ridged on the glass area for extra sensation when it is twirled in a clockwise direction, and if you turn it counter clockwise, LOOK OUT. i would reccomend that only experienced fisherman try that. also if used properly the back fins can rock your world!!!

i am wondering why you are uniformed about these type items. your old man, mr claus brought my gal one last year, not the fish but a new 2001 type toy.

i reccomend you git u self a toy and try it out, with or without the old man...HO HO HO

I have a video store. I get mine wholesale ...

BTW, that lovely fish reminds me of a show I saw about a month ago on HBO. It was on the making of glass toys. Quite educational! Oh, they suggested the freezer .... and they pointed out that these were dishwasher safe

Hubby says to tell your honey that if she is really good this year he just might get her a new one.
