I am using Frontpage to create HTML for an eBay auction. I want the background to be black and the text to be white. I pasted my HTML into the auction template on eBay, but when I review it, all the text is changed to white, but the background is also white. I am afraid to click submit and have the text not show up.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Sheila

Just my two cents worth and you can sure ignore it if you like, but I personally find a black background/white text very hard to read and hard on the eyes. Maybe a dark grey?

Hello! I also use Front Page, and I use Black backgrounds. (I love the black, just be careful what font you use as some can be harder to read)
To do this on eBay, you have to create your ad by using a TABLE,keeping JUST the table, background Black, or whatever other color you choose.

Hope that helps.

Pat - thanks for the great suggestion. I tried it though, and I'm obviously not doing it right. Here is the HTML I put in for the table:

<table border="1" width="100%">
<tr>
<td width="100%">
<table bgcolor="#000000" text="#FFFFFF" link="#9966FF">

Auction Text & Photos
</tr>
</td>
</table>

The table showed up, but the background is still white and the text is still black.

Can anyone help? If you could include the actual HTML I should use, I would be very grateful.

Thanks,

Sheila

Hi Shiela, Just getting ready to sign off. Pull down the tab showing table properties and make sure your settings are set. Front Page is tricky!
Pat

Copy and paste this into front page.. Let me know if it helps.

<div align="center">
<table border="5" cellpadding="2" width="600" style="list-style-type: square; color: #FFFFFF; border: 6 groove #0000FF" height="79" bgcolor="#000000" bordercolor="#0000FF">
<tr>
<td align="right" nowrap width="600" bgcolor="#000000" height="55">
<p align="center">DOES IT WORK?
</table>

Very funny Andy........

Pat - Thank you SO much! You're the best! It worked and it's listed. If you want to check it out, the auction # is 1030066728.

Now, do you happen to know how to override the link colors that eBay uses?

Sheila

It hurts my eyes(especially the dark blue) but my kids would love it! My son has a whole web page done in that dark blue on black. EEEEK!
