Okay here's the deal. eBay sent me my October bill just today and it says since it's past due and all previous attempts to deduct the amount from your checking has failed your credit card on file will be charged within the next 5-7 business days.

There is NO reason they shouldn't have been able to deduct the money, there's more than enough in that account.

I emailed practically begging them not to charge that card, it's no longer useable and they should try my checking account again, I reentered all the information, I don't know if I had typed in something wrong the first time or not, since they don't show you all the information you have on file, only bits and pieces.

Anyway, it's none of their business why they can't use the card (I had to max it out for personal health reasons), but what do you think they'd do to my seller's account if I do a chargback? The amount will put me over my limit for sure!

Any ideas that might help me? Is this normally how they do business? I NEVER got a single email from them saying that there was a problem last month deducting the money. I noticed it hadn't been deducted, but figured since it fell right when my bank does my statements, it would be on the next one!

Thanx in advance and I apologize for the rambling, I'm just so dern mad at these morons I could spit!

Angela

Ebay billing is just as fouled up as so many other aspects of the operation. I got double invoices on two seller accounts in OCtober and just recently a mass email saying "nevermind, our mistake."

I just received a notice on a third account which is pretty much like yours I think.

I changed by credit card about the time my October invoice notice was sent, and they said it would be charged in 5-7 days. Of course it never was, and they are saying I am past due to. I know they got the right account since I very carefully triple checked the numbers. Now they have two months charges which are supposed to be submitted in 5-7 days, and we will see, we will see....

If they do cancel, resubmit the payment information at once and it should be ok.

How I wish ebay would do things right the first time.

Hello, I just got this e-mail notice from E-Bay a few minutes ago:

"eBay Invoice for Wednesday, Oct 31, 2001 PST:"

"You currently have a credit card on file for billing purposes. Your invoice amount of xxx will automatically be charged to your credit card within the next 5 to 7 days."

"Notice : Your account is currently past due for non-payment. Your full
invoice amount is due now, otherwise your bidding and listing privileges will be restricted."

When I checked my account I got this:

"Account Past Due No
Amount Past Due $0.00
Date of Last Invoice Oct-31-01"

I am really confused, I got the notice dated 10/30/01 on 11/12/01. It says they are billing my credit card like they always do and then they say I have to pay immediately or be suspended and then when I check my account it says I have a zero balance and am not past due. Talk about double talk!!

I don't want to be suspended but I do not want to pay them immediately like they have asked if they are also billing my credit card. I looked at my account carefully and it does not look like they ever billed me for last month.

I never got one of those notices about be double billed and there is no mention of this in their current notice to me. There is also no mention that they tried to bill my credit card and it was denied. It would not be denied!!

Should I ignore this and just let them bill my credit card or should I just go ahead and make a one time payment to them? I am really confused.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As a seller since 1998, it hurts me to see such amateurish stupidity. Like so many of us here, I once was impressed with ebay, even awed at its direction and possibilities.

Lately it seems everything they touch turns to coal instead of diamonds for us long time supporters. The stockholders may have a great deal to worry about in the future if this mismanagement keeps up.
