It seems like no one is here anymore. A few weeks ago, I could log on a nd find an entire page with ne responses. Now, there is like 10 posts with new replies.

Did everyone leave?

AW decided to change policy regarding its message boards starting on the first of November. They let go of their moderators and made a rule that you had to register with a credit card in order to post to the boards (though posting is still free). This resulted in a mass exodus, mostly to the message boards at OTWA.com.

There a few starting to come back realizing that giveing a credit card number is no real big deal. They are starting to see that this was/is the best posting board for real information.

Even with less people around there is still quality information here and good questions/topics. Currently we have no cat posts.

Even at that, the posting here is WAY down. There is more activity at other smaller boards than here even. I don't think this will get better, and I think it's AW's plan for it just to die altogether.

They aren't making enough money with banner ads for this area, and it does cost money to run a board for a company of this size. I would gather that the boards will become the next cost cutting measure.

A shame, but evolution happens on the internet too. Sites (species) come and go.

Activity here is higher than I thought. I decided to give the CC, I like the board here more than OTWA and other places. I also like the email messages. I used my AMEX, which I pay $0 in case of fraud. I don't think AW has bad intentions, but the CC number is still going to deter a lot of people from registering, and I still think this community will only get smaller, not larger over time.

Did I dream this or have you also read that some terrorists may use chat rooms to give coded messages to each other. Maybe AW has a bigger reasoning for their new policy re: credit cards.

mom: (can I call you mom?)

There are literally THOUSANDS of places they could do that, and no one would ever know. Like looking for a needle in the haystack.

I think AW CC policy is clearly just for weeding out the numbers here, and to make these boards more for the PAYING customers of AW other services.

OH SO now were terrorist interesting..

That makes things very clear for me with that kind of thinking you could say maybe terrorist used funds made On ebay to fund the attacks on 9/11 , this exsplans why Ebays push to make 100 million in 100 days with AFA they are feeling guilt...

I think somebodys dreaming ....

Sheesh

Yes People are filtering back, It will take awhile for them to get comfortable with the changes. The other places are just not the same.
