Well, I just sold two items and for some reason instead of an EOA notice I get this
notice from [email protected] telling me that a buyer had purchased two items and entered the following message. "Please, send address and I'll mail money order. Thank you."
Then the next paragraph says to enter the total and send an invoice to the buyer, click here http://cgi3.ebay.com/aw and a whole bunch of other numbers. First of all I don't want that check out thing. By putting it on there I think they have done auction interference. All I want is a EOA so that I can personally contact the buyer without a middle man. I am able to do that. I am not helpless. This is not the way I want to do business...What can be done to stop it? Does anyone know? Of course there was no shipping charges so the buyer assumes that the price of the items is with postage.NOT Then I have a feeling the buyer didn't read all of the terms of service because if they had done that I wouldn't be going through this. Well off to take my zoloft now and maybe things will look better.
Maybe my Terms of Service should be first. What does every one think. Any ideas?

Okay I see an unfriendly place. I thought all those posters moved on but I see they haven't. Last posting. Don't need the hassel. Maybe you need Miss Manners.

Please don't take offense, LIBRA. This issue has been beaten to death on the eBay boards. MANY sellers venting their frustration, signing petitions, etc. and nothing being done to solve the problems. You are just one of many unhappy sellers.

If it is any consolation...you have my sympathy.

Libra: Not much you can do - ebay seems intent on messing up everyones holiday sales. I ignore checkout requests and resend my AW WBN. If I hear nothing from the bidder I email them. Theres a Checkout message board at ebay with thousands of angry venters - you should visit and sign the petition if you dare.
Luck to ya !

Earlier today I was getting frustrated with Checkout also. It was just getting under my skin bad.

I don't know why, but reading the checkout boards on ebay helped. Some were flaming ebay pretty good and just reading some of the jillions of posts felt like a little release.

I posted on the petition, I think i was number 3484 or somewhere in there.

I don't know of anything constructive to do about it right now......I think we'll just have to adapt.

Ill probably keep listing till it gets unprofitable or starts eating my customers(Its very Close now) but you can bet Im diversifing my Online sales. I used to be positive about ebay( I Loved it ) now they are in the pond scum catagory and I advertise my negative experience every chance I get. They only have a limited number of customers to PO. It may take awhile but..... lol you know

I guess what bothers me most about the checkout is that it is before the auction listing. I just used PayPals and I found it to be rather handy. Why can't ebay have a button like PayPal and in our TOS explain the checkout if we want it. I think ebay leaps before they look. I haven't listed in any other site so I can't compare. I have good luck on ebay with the little I sell so I will stay around.

I am in the same boat as you Libra, small part time seller using ebay only at this time.

I did sign the petition and now just ignore check out emails and send AW WBN and email them if there is any confusion.

I understand your frustration. THe first thing on my auctions description is WE DO NOT USE CHECKOUT we prefer to email you direct with payment info...
then in the little policy box..I TYPE IT AGAIN! no one has used it thank goodness..
did you even know there was a checkout board & a petition with over 3,000 signatures over this? click on any of your auctions,,below see more info on checkout..click it..then click on message board..you will get an eyeful..does make me feel better to read it..as i let my auctions run out & go over for the .5 nickel listings at yahoo on the 20th..I am so sick of ebays games..
3 years is enough...wanna read more..go over to the new community boards at yahoo..wow..fun reading..many others feel the same as i do..
GOOD LUCK everyone wherever you sell..& lol THANKS for letting me vent too..oh yes,,i typed in ebay search "checkout and not" i got around 173,000 listings so many are not taking checkout..in fact Many are CHECKING OUT lol

hello, just listed some new items this weekend . It looks like auction watch has helped with the problem. Under checkout instructions it has suggested the following. "I will send an email at auction closing with further checkout instructions." That should help the confusion if the winner does go thru checkout. I hope !!

Libra63 ebay isnt listening to anyone including their big power sellers, and big boy sellers! Best thing for everyone to do is move auctions to yahoo. Some of ebays biggest clients are planning too. eBay is banning people over posting their disgust with checkout too which is really upsetting to me. I am done with ebay for good now. I am moving all my items to yahoo. eBay has become so arrogant that they are willing to lose their seller base instead of admitting they are wrong.

is ebay using checkout to shore up billpoint?
amzn always have one click, silmilar to billpoint and it desposits fund to your bank account .
on amzn marketplace ,sellers must use one click, while with zshop, seller does not have to ,with amzn auction, seller can use any payment method/
billpoint is 80% owned by ebay, and is getting 25% of the ebay actions, compared to paypal 75%/
if ebay wants billpoint to be self sufficient,i can see why it wants more sellers to support billpoint.
yahoo has yahoo direct and yahoo is lined up with paymentech which is owned by banc one.
so yahoo someday can say PAYMENTECH just like amzn said one click and ebay said billpoint.
