Hi Everyone!

We just opened a storefront on Ebay a few hours ago!!! Maybe we're excited, because we don't know what we're in for

Our current auctions have now appeared in the store. However, they are all listed in "other" category.

How do we transfer the auctions to appear in our store specific categories (example Jimmy Buffett - Home Decor)?

Also, anyone know how to launch an item into our store, in a store specific category, through AW?

Thanks for your help.

'auctions' On the auction listing page of eBay there a place to select 1 of your 12 catagories. If you did not launch on eBay your launching service may not support this. The default is other.

I can not answer you AW question about support for stores but I do not believe they do at this time but are working on it.

I hae never had to do it but you may be able to edit your auction to change the catagory. I know you can change a store item that way.

Sorry I could not help more.

Jim

They must be launched in the catagory you want them to show up in.

When you frist start an ebay store it takes a few hours for the catagories you make to show up so next time you launch items to your store you will be able to choose which of the catagories they go in when you create them.

Adding to this thread, I just opened an ebay store, too...but I would LOVE to continue designing, launching and managing items through AW.

Did I hear right? Are AW and ebay working on a way to integrate AW w/storefronts?

If not, is there any way to work around this issue now?

Thanks in advance,
Sharon

Thanks for your advice everyone. I am beyond frustration. Auction watch will not answer my emails on this subject. I am being told that AW Auction Manager will not allow me to place my ebay launches into the ebay stores custom categories I created.
I havé even tried to sign up and use Seller's Assistant Pro. What a nightmare that garbage is.
Is AW going to solve this problem or will all of my auctions fall into OTHER in my ebay store?

danilee, how did you launch into ebay stores in the first place? If I could figure that out, I, too, could do away with this Sellers Asst. mess!

By the way, you and I have had all the same problems...I've been tagging on to your posts in Compuserve also. No photos showing up when they're stored in my cs. directory. I'd love to use AW for auction templates and photo storage, but I want to be able to use ebay stores, also.

I understand these boards aren't moderated anymore, but AW...please check in now and again or we'll be forced to move elsewhere! Not a threat, just frustration.

Thanks,
Sharon

Thanks for your reply. I received an email response from ebay regarding the problem, and I in turn responded.

The following is my response this morning together with the prior email from Jeff:

Hey Jeff !!!

First, thank you so much for responding. We have been pulling our hair out over this.

Yes, we have used Auction Watch exclusively. I have tried to change the categories by using the "revise" link that you suggest and that does not work. Whether I try to revise from the listing page, or through the manage my store link, "Store Category" does not appear after the first " choose a category section" as you indicated. Do you know why "Store Category" does not appear in our revise links?

I know that our custom categories have been established because we did some test listings last night by launching through "Sell my item", rather than Auction Watch. In a new launch through eBay (not Auction Watch), we can establish "Custom Categories" to place the items in our storefront. I suppose their is a software incompatibility, but that should not prevent us from revising the item to place it in our "custom categories".

We tried to use Seller's Assistant Pro last night and found it over complicated and an aggravation. We have contacted Auction Watch about the problem with no response.

Thanks so much.

Danielle

Hello,

Thank you for writing to eBay support with your questions about stores.

Did you list all of your store items using Auctionwatch?

You can change the category of your Storefront item by clicking on the
'revise' link on the item-listing page. Once the page loads, please
scroll past the first category section until you see the 'Store Category
(Choose one category only)' section.

If you want to change your item to a 'new' category, that's unique to
your store, you'll need to follow the same steps outlined above, but
select the 'Other' category, and confirm the change. Then you can create
a new category using your "Edit Your Store" page, located at:

http://cgi6.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?StorefrontLogin&usage=1

You can also access this page from eBay's homepage. Simply click on
"eBay Stores" located on the left hand side of the page. Next, click on
the "sellers" link found on the upper left hand side of the page.
Lastly, click on the "manage my store" link located towards the bottom
of the page.

After you've created the new category, just follow the steps listed
above and change the category from 'Other' to the 'New' Category you
created.

Please keep in mind that it takes two to four hours for your category
change to take effect.

I don't have any information available to be able to answer your
question about auctionwatch and how their softwar is used to list eBay
store items. You will need to contact them for assistance and support.

If you continue to have your items mislisted using auctionwatch, and
feel that it may be a software incompatibility, you may want to check
into eBay's bulk listing tools that are supported and compatible with
changes that are made by us.

Our bulk listing tools are Sellers Assistant and Mister Lister.

For information about Mister Lister, please refer to the information
that can be found at:

http://pages.ebay.com/help/sellerguide/mr-lister-faq.html

For information about Sellers Assistant, please refer to the information
that can be found at:

http://webhelp.ebay.com/cgi-bin/eHNC/showdoc-ebay.tcl?docid=212653&query
id=14973815&querystring=Auction_Assistant

I am not trying to suggest that you not use Auctionwatch. I am just
giving you some alternatives that may be helpful to you, if you find
their software does not meet your needs.

We appreciate that you have chosen eBay to buy and sell on the Internet.
We value you as an important member of the eBay community.

Regards,

Jeff D. G.

Also, FYI, We tried Andale, Seller's Assistant Pro and a few others and none of them compare to ease of use and quality of Auction Watch. The main reason that this is bothering us so much is that we don't want to leave Auction Watch.

Hi there,

We do plan to incorporate support for eBay Stores into our system; unfortunately, however, I do not have a time-frame for implementation at this point. We will make an announcement as soon as we have a better idea of when implementation might take place.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Diana
