Have you had a freezeup or a crash lately? (if you use Netscape you probably have lolol)You might have an error on your disk. Try a scandisk & defrag (in that order) then reboot, that often does the trick

Hi, this happens to me every so often, sometimes, I find I can not sign in on a particular screen. Please look at the top right of the page.(at this point it may say sign in or sign out.)sign in or out there, and that should help.

I had this problem and it lasted from October 11 until October 16.

Talked to Tech Support three different times, deleting cookies, folders, lowering security, etc. Posted here and was advised by some of the (former) great computer minds here, including Meya and Anonymous Coward.

I assume you have done the "delete cookies" thing, and it didn't help. Also try the "sign out, sign back in", which is a temporary glitch at times.

Before you take your computer to the shop, try this:

1. If you know someone you can trust, on a different computer and server, give him your password (you can change it later), and see if he can sign in successfully on your account. (Through my ordeal, my son who was 250 miles away could sign in.) Once you've established that your account is not "blocked" per se, try this:

2. Try signing in on your server with a different computer. (I borrowed one from my daughter, and couldn't sign in on my server....which meant that either eBay had my ISP blocked, or it was a server problem somewhere.)

3. If you can't sign in on your server with a different computer, use your computer, but "borrow" another server, even if long distance. I 'borrowed' my daughter's server, which is long distance to me, just long enough to make a connection and sign in on eBay.

Then:

Call your local server and tell them what is happening. Mine interrupted me to ask if the site I was having a problem with was eBay; when I said yes, she told me they had had several complaints in the last few days, and had talked directly to eBay. According to my server, Ebay told them that there was a problem with a spine on the East Coast that was causing the problem. But the lady I talked to added that she didn't see how, since we (in Texas) weren't going through anything on the East Coast. The local techies were out to lunch, but she would have one call me when they got back.

No one ever called, but about an hour later, I could sign in on eBay.

BTW, eBay later denied that they ever had such a problem, and that I just needed to clean my cookies out.

So believe what you want...but it was either my local server, or an eBay problem.

Call your local server!

Try rebooting. Then go to internet explorer and try entering ebay again. Don't use netscape...I hope this helps, Good Luck

I didn't mention that I was having the problem with both Netscape and IE....I even d/l-ed Netscape 6.1....didn't help, of course.

Again, call your server, whether the problem is with your local server or one of eBay's servers.
