As far as I know you can't turn it off at this time, but I believe eBay is working on their software to allow you to turn it off under myeBay Preferences. But not yet.

you can't turn off the Ebay Checkout feature, and Ebay is not makeing it so it can be shut off they said they will be adding a way to opt out of haveing the checkout information from showing in the ended auction listing.

This mean the email addresses of buyers and sellers and there and shipping address with not be viewable from a summary link on that page.

I have a note at the beginning of my auction that I do not use Checkout.

Today, I had a customer send payment through Billpoint and neglected to send postage. I have heard this is one of the things that happen if you do not include checkout information.

Is there a way you can determine if it was a payment through CHeckout or are all Billpoint payments made through Checkout?

This is a new buyer and may have just may be confused, but in my email asking for postage, I asked if they used Checkout. Haven't got an answer yet. This second payment by Billpoint will cost me another fee.

Rambling on, I use Billpoint for the convenience of my customers and want to continue. I didn't want to use Checkout until it was up and running with no glitches, but they have decided that it can be used whether I like it or not. The only way to stop it would be to stop taking Billpoint.
