How does every one feel about eBay Checkout? I think it is a pain. I send a WBN with all the info needed. Now I get a bunch of emails even AFTER I've sent the info looking for a total. What do you think?

Ebay checkout is more than just a mere inconvience to sellers. I am now recieving payment without shipping included from both PayPal and Billpoint. I shudder to think of the person who is sending me a a check or money order for a mistaken amount who hasn't responded to my winning bid notice. I recently made a purchase on E bay and tried it out. Misleading , confusing and annoying.

It gets worse. I send winners of multiple auctions my usual end of auction e-mail where I combine the total bids and adjust the shipping charge. Despite that, since checkout started I'm being sent Paypal payments for each individual auction instead of one lump payment, and I have to pay Paypal fees on each payment. I think buyers feel that they have to do it that way.

Check out is costing me money.

Now that AW has added the checkout for ebay I like the checkout feature I can add my shipping to checkout I am getting more sales and my turn over time for shipping is down to 18 to 29 hour from here to the buyer they are happy Im happy and far less typeing and waiting for payment.

I charge a fixed shipping cost the ebay checkout feature allows me to add checkout insturtions for the buyer how much to ajust fixed shipping to combine purchases.

I have received a payment without postage and all my email has been returned from customer. I decided to mail and foot the postage with a note, and made one last attempt to contact via email, justing asking for response. The reply , "I sent total amount.' This is from a newbie and I am sure they think they did what was right.

I have a big paragraph at the beginning of my descriptions stating I do not use Checkout. I guess I am going to have to say, DO NOT PAY UNTIL I CONTACT YOU.

Can a customer pay with Paypal? It looks as if I received one from a Paypal customer.

Next question, can you deny a Billpoint or Paypal payment that is not the correct amount?

I collect Texas Sales Tax and there is no way for a seller to know if the customer should pay this tax prior to receiving their mailing address. What to do about this?

The checkout feature sucks, to put it mildly.
I send congrat's letters as the auction ends
and certainly don't need ebay to get in the
way.

I just added a logo I found somewhere on the web to my congrat's letters last night and it seems to have helped. It is 2 of those red signs with a slanted line thru it that says "Do Not Use Ebay Checkout"

I tried to copy and paste it here, but this page will not allow me to paste anything here.

What is ebay trying to pull here ?? Are they trying to introduce something that they will eventually charge for and get their hands into us even further ??
