A question:
Which of the following scenarios do you think is most productive, and why?
Scenario 1: Start all listings on the same day, so that when buyers click on "view seller's other auctions" they see all of your stuff.
Scenario 2: Start listings on different days, so that some of your auctions are near the top of hit lists on different days (because some auctions are always ending soon).
Scenario 3: Other possibilities?

I list my items Sunday through Thursday. The only problem I run into is that I have people making multiple bids over that period, and at the moment I have 9 going on, which gets very confusing, but I find it less confusing than having everything close on the same day, gives me time to get some things labeled and ready for mailing before the next lot comes in. People still seem to find my new auction o.k.

I try to end auctions of similar items on the same night to encourage multiple purchases and to combine shipping. I think you tend to lose bidders if you end the same auctions over the course of several nights, as people tend to forget that they intended to bid. It also requires more effort to manage of EOA notices, payments, and shipping. Note that I have no problem selling items targeted at different markets over the course of several nights, since it's unlikely that anybody will buy multiple items (although I have been surprised at the odd combinations of what people buy, but that's been infrequent).

I start all my auctions later on Sunday and Monday nights and end them on the same evenings.....I have found this to be my best selling days....seems like people are ready to browse toward the end of their weekend. Works well for me...HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!

I've done better spreading auctions out over a few days, although it can get confusing keeping tract of multiple bids from one buyer, it certainly is worth it for me because it equals more bids.

If e-Bay crashes or if an important feature cannot be accessed at the time you have all your listings and you do not have a reserve or if you host your pics with AW and they have a rare problem, you run a big risk. Sort of like putting all your eggs in one basket.

We also spread our auctions out over several days. I think you get better response that way. I also never seem to get bids on weekends Fri-Sun so I seldom end auctions on weekends.

I have all my clothing auctions closing on Sundays and Mondays. Everything else is spread out over the week.

This of course if a guideline and not a rule.

I usually list Sun. through Wed., but list similar items on the same day. Since I sell mostly books this is easy to do. For example, on Sunday I might list a bunch of gay fiction, then on Monday a bunch of Civil War books, etc. This way if a bidder finds one book he likes he can easily see everything else I have on the subject.
