Hi! Does anyone know when the next free listing day is, or where I could check in the morning to see if it is free listing day that day? Thanks.

It's usually right before Christmas. Last year it looks like it was Dec. 21 You can find the charts for Dec 2000 at this url

dec 21 is too late, xmas shopping online is pretty much done by dec 16.
ebay can make more on final value fee if it gives us a free listing day before xmas, say first part of december.it will also make ebay looks good with all these holidays items

Wowwow85: That's WHY they have it so late.

This will be my 4th Christmas on eBay. The free listing day has always been around Dec. 20/21. A 7 day auction listed on free listing day has ALWAYS ended between Christmas and New Year's.

As I recall, in my first year (December 1998) they allowed special 14 day auctions which ended the first week of January. That option was dropped in the following years.

It is true that sales drop off after December 15 or so. The conventional wisdom is that listing things around Christmas and New Year's is not productive so listings plummet.

That is the reason there is a free listing day just before Christmas. With a 10 day auction you can usually have auctions running on both holidays.

If you list it, some will sell. I have found it worth the effort for several years now.

CHECK DAILY ON ANNOUNCEMENT BOARD, HIT site map top of any page bookmark announcement page..be ready they give little notice..i do well up to new years. less items on & many get holiday money, & are home more..would be worth it to go to the auctionguild.com website sign up for tagnotes newsletter.they are going to do a special emailing when it's announced this year.

I believe last year, many wrote in on free listing day, that they were very pleased with the buy it now feature. I am planning on using it this year.

Thank you all so much for all your good information. I'm not so worried now I won't find out about it until ten at night when there are only a few hours left to list.

The free listing day will probably not be announced until the evening before. So, prepare ahead and be sure to check the Announcement Board (or this board) several times each evening in the 4 or 5 days just before Christmas Eve.
