Has anyone ever tried Simply Postage for thier at home postage needs? I am thinking about it. Any other postage places out there on the net that are good and would help cut down standing in line at the post office. Thanks, Lisa

I have never tried Simply Postage.

I use Endicia for my postage. I have had no poblems with them. They have free delivery conformation on all priority mail, and for media mail I think it is only 12 cents.

I went to Simply Postage when the outfit I used to use went under.

I use the Simply Postage postage meter in conjuction with a Dymo Labelwriter printer (for shipping address/return address).

You can only buy the blank stamp forms from Simply Postage, so you have to ensure you plan ahead and keep a good supply.

Otherwise I have no real complaints. I did have a meter go bad on me, but they paid to have it shipped back to them and they provided me with a new one quickly enough.

Scale only valid for up to 5 lbs (but unlike me previous service) it does tell you if the package exceeds that amount.

Overall I'd rate them an 8.5 of 10.

Went to their website but they ask you to sign in with your email before telling you about their product. No privacy details.

Total and immediate turnoff. They probably make more money selling spam lists than postage.

Why are on line businesses so, um, un-businesslike? You don't have to give an address to shop at a store!

No,
The post office offers a less expensive similar version which I tried - twice.
The first time I got all my Christmas cards on their bill when they had a $60 free sign up offer. It was SO painful to use that I had lots of detailed negative feedback for them and cancelled the account. Then about 1 1/2 years later I tried again and still thought it was evil so cancelled again and am still trying to get tehm to quit trying to charge me $15 monthly for the advanced service.
I found there was not a real advantage for me as I live so close to a PO that I would often go there anyway to drop off the package or if it was a letter it is not too inconvenient to request by phone or online stamp orders.... vs the hassle of printer jams and slow/broken connections then that to get the refund for the misprinted postage it needed to be sent in to them - for $.32 - at the time - which was aggravating....
But I like trying technology so I will probably try it again in another 2 years or so to see if it has improved .....

Good luck....

I have not used this service but did try postage.com (or similar, not sure of name) that allows you to print from their software directly on your computer. I didn't like it at all. First - any jam in the printer and you have to keep track of that item and request a refund. Biggest problem was requirement for addresses to match postal service records. More than 1/2 the time they didn't. Took me more time than going to the post office so I'd vote no on any software/personal printer based services. And I'm usually a complete gadget freak!

As for the shipping services that give you a special printer or have a postal meter - I know nothing about these. I'm looking at Pitney Bowes now. They have a meter mail targeted to sohos that is only $10/month and has a trial period. If anyone out there has used this service I'd love to hear about it.

Good luck with whichever you choose.
