I was given a URL for an online surplus site. You can put in something (I typed in Disney) and get a list of things you can buy in bulk or sometimes in small lots to resell.
Has anyone tried this? Is it usually profitable? Any tips on how to know if it is a good deal or a reputable company?

someone gave a url for refusbished returned items and the salesman will call you and tell you to get ready to buy in pellets or truckloads of dept store returns,is that it??
trucking would cost you a few thousand dollars.
do a search on past topics on horror stories of selling returns one ebay
I was looking at getting some little porcelain Disney characters. . .they were like 10 bucks each and are selling for about 15 or 17 on eBay. Not a big markup. . .

Actually Surplus and returns are two different things
as well there is little to no nightmare storys about selling Return exsept from sellres who perfer not to have the competition
There are people on yahoo and ebay makeing 100,000 a month selling store returns and old new stock..
It is costly you do need to buy by the pallet or truck load you will need some place for storage before you order even if its a large storage unit close to your home or business inless you pick up your load at the terminal unloading will require a few friends to help or a fork truck.. http://www.Dman-N-Company.com

$10 disney characters include shipping????
i thought we are talking wholesale,so where does shipping per item comes from??
if resin casted ones from china, you can do better than paying 10 wholesale.
there is a website for surplus auction,i dont remember the url but it has electronics, posters, industrial commodities, like dali posters ,you have to bid in 2000 lot.
ebay seller has no use for large lot of identical items.

Hmmm. . .that may be a good point. But I can get as many or few as I want. I don't know if it's wholesale. . .I was just wondering if anyone has dealt with this company.
I have a source for Barbies way below retail, just trying to add to my available sources.

Search ebay and yahoo see if you find alot of people offering these items if so probablly will be hard to sell for a good profit when it comes to wholesale ..

the problem with all these online sources is that if you know it,so do many others.
worse, someone beats you to the path, thats why you need to check ebay/yahoo to see if it has been saturated or not.
may be your best source is really your own backyard, see if your neighbors, great aunts etc want to rid their basement junk.
one time my neighbor checked into nursing home and his son hired a team of 3 plus himself and a truck to remove things he and his wife accumulated in the last 60 years.
