Its real simple. Here's what you do.
You start a 3 day auction on Thursday evening. Don't upload any pictures yet. Be very very vague in the description. No words like live/dates/etc or any of those other trigger words. Come Friday night, upload the pictures. The suites can't file their ebay complaints, they are at home with the wife and kids. Sunday night the auction ends, email winner, tell them the pictures are going to be deleted... Make sure to delete em, so when the suits come into work on Monday and see something sold for 100 bucks, no picture, no description, no valid complaint. Simple, so simple it's genius!

I would love some feedback on this....

No you won't. You can run the listing for as long as you want, include the words "THIS IS A BOOTLEG TAPE" in your listing, and report youself to eBay ... nothing will happen. Their SafeHarbour drones are too stupid to be able to figure out what's real and what isn't.
What they will do is tell you that there is nothing they can do unless the infringing item is reported to them by the owner of the copyright. They know damn well that the layperson has no idea of who owns the copyright (and these things change owners frequently), and they also know that the big copyright owners cannot respond fast enough to stop a listing even if it is listed for 2 weeks.
Besides, it would be financially irresponsible to their shareholders if they did the "right" thing.

Geez, such negative feedback. I was not looking to get berrated. Just looking for feedback from others who have problems with the vero program, thanks

I don't have any problems with the vero program because I only sell legitiment items. It's easier that way. I sure would hate to be booted off of ebay for doing something stupid. My opinion...

Excuse me? I didn't see where it said something like 'only those that agree with such low-life scamming ways that make it difficult for all honest sellers that do things the legit way' need comment on this.
You asked for feedback, you got feedback.
Is hotmusic99 your selling ID? Nothing like coming onto a public board that ebay reads and stating how you can screw ebay. Gotta luv it!

Well, for one, the suits at ebay are there even on the weekend to close auctions. So the day doesn't really matter.
Another thing is that you can sell bootlegs all you want just don't mention things are orginal or otherwise and just send the product as described (or lack thereof). Ebay will not do a thing, because they don't want to take any liability and they are "just a venue".
Even if a customer complains, unless they turn you into the law or the copyright holder, ebay does nothing.
I have seen another creative way, and that is to use lots of graphics in your auction listings that are linked to your own site. Then when the auction ends, just delete the files from your server. Thus, there is not picture evidence of what you are selling, only a textual description if ANY text was even used. I have seen some where the entire auction listings other than the title is graphics. A sure sign of problems ahead.

As always, ebay's rules are enforced haphazardly. But anybody selling bootlegs is at risk of having the auction pulled. I've reported a couple of blatant boots and they've been pulled. It may be that the "ebay drones" pass the info to the VERO owner first to get verification, but they do sometimes pull such auctions reported by other ebay users.

It's hit and miss ... depends on which drone you get doing the, ahem, "investigation".
But anybody selling bootlegs is at risk of having the auction pulled
Big deal ... just change a couple of words and list it again. There are no consequences, real anyway, for getting caught peddling bootlegs on eBay. The absolute worst punishment they can dole out is a suspension, which means nothing to most bootleggers. Reregister another another ID and let 'er rip.

The truth is only about 1% of the copyright owners who are getting ripped off are VeRO members, or even know about that program.
but they do sometimes pull such auctions reported by other ebay users
They used to, but since their recent "we're just a venue and we are not responsible for anything or to anyone other than our shareholders" wins in court, I don't think they do this anymore.
Best advice if you a buyer and you don't want a bootleg, ask lots of questions before placing a bid.
Now, if you want to talk about blatant bootlegging, go to any one of the Yahoo Entertainment pages. They actually include links to their illegal listings for bootleg copies of things like "The Sopranos" and "Dark Angel" ...

The title of your thread is about bootlegs, your OP mentions nothing about VERO or what problems you have with them, only that you think you found a way to screw buyers and the artists that you hope to profit from. You may not have wanted to get berated, but you should have expected it. If you really wanted to start a discussion about VERO, that's what you should have asked about. Not many folks condone illegal auctions.

Why worry about the ebay suits? Just go to yahoo. I have been able to find some good bootleg live concert cd's for a reasonable price. If you go to NYC you will find bootleg vendors all over. They dont enforce it, or they would lose money.

I'm not trying to screw buyers by any means. The VERO program is way out of whack, and Hotmusic is not my userid on ebay..nor will I share it here.
blairwitch, yahoo is a great avenue for these items, but they just don't sell well.
When I refer to the suits, I am refering to the VERO people. The ones that complain to ebay. Seems that they would only work M-F.

Yes, the ones that work the other hours are called "rats".

If you are hotmusic99 on eBay these "negative" feedbacks will go well with your 8 neuts and 13 negs (2.124%).
