Does anybody know if there is a place you can find out which categories are most popular on eBay at any given time?

Excellent question! I've been wondering if categories make much difference at all. I sell books in sci-fi, horror, etc and sometimes don't enter the category right. Then I wonder if someone is searching in some way I don't forsee - like with title/author.
It would be nice if ebay would publish stats - like I'd like to see a list of titles/authors/edtions that sell for greater than a certain amount. I spend a lot of time in their search engine on ended auctions. Nice if they'd put it together for us.

With well over 8000 categories on eBay I think how you word your title is more important than anything else. If it's done right your items will show up under several categories.
Check out the category list to find your best choice.
