HI There everyone.
I have been trying to helps some friends of mine with a tech problem they are having with Ebay. Husband and wife use the same computer have two different log ons in Netscape. Each one sells on ebay under a different ID. Now the husband can log on and view his auctions but the wife can't. I have tried to help them, did all the basics of clearing cache etc still the wife can log on but when she tries to view her auctions, there are'nt any. She tries to list and she gets kicked off ebay!
I helped them write an email to ebay asking for tech support. They received a canned response back telling her to clear her cache, temp files etc.
Does anyone have any ideas or the phone number for Ebay?
Thanks so much ahead of time from me and my friends.

The problem is that eBay's system for listing etc will not work without a cookie. The husband's account has the cookie, and the machine can only use one eBay cookie at a time. This system is to prevent sellers from bidding on their own items and other fraud.
What they could do is clear out the cookies after each use and the other account would then have to log in and receive a new cookie. This would have to be done each time a different account is used.
But, your friends might find out that having two separate accounts for husband and wife is against eBay's TOS.

I will be going over to their house this afternoon I will clear the cookies, temp files, check her settings for receiving cookies and test it in Internet explorer. I will post again while I am there.
Edited for clarity

Hi everyone, I went to their house last night. Here is what I did and what happened. I cleared the cache, deleted all temp files and internet temp files. cookies for both internet explorer and netscape were set to "accept all cookies"
Internet explorer works fine but Netscape doesnt. They like using it because they can change the profile of the user when they bring up netscape. (netscape ver 4.7) The husband's profile with netscape works file. The wife clicks on netscape and selects her profile. Ebay is her home page. She clicks on My Ebay and her closed and open auctions are listed. When you click on an open auction, it starts to load to 4% and the entire computer hangs. I believe it is hanging when the foto of auction starts to load. I tried it with an open auction that had NO foto and it worked fine. At this point, I think it has something to do with loading the IPIX or atleast working with it.
ANY TECHS OUT THERE???? I could use some help or the phone number for Ebay????
Thanks so much to everyone for trying to help with this.

the issue here might be netscape. I was using netscape for years until one month ago. i discovered that whenver I was on with netscape, my computer acted very strange (lots of freezing, not getting to specific web pages, etc). However, I also had INTERNET EXPLORER loaded on my pc becausae some of my programs only work with IE. Whenver I used IE, everything was fine. but, as soon as I went to netscape the problems began.
It got to the point where I was thinking about purchasing a new PC. However, I talked to the techs at my ISP and they suggested I download IE 5.5 because it comes complete with a free version of OUTLOOK EXPRESS. To make a long story short, I followed their advise. It's like I have a different computer. Everything is working smoothly now. FYI, there are two of us here much like you and your wife. We both have email accounts and we both buy and sell on ebay with 2 different account names. I know its annoying to setup the PC with a new browser and mail program, but from someone who just experienced a TOTAL AND COMPLETE change in their PC performance, you might want to try it.

I like Netscape, but their browsers run hot and cold, and not all sites like them all of the time. IE is a better browser, but it's not perfect either (5.5 crashes sometimes for inexplicable reasons).
If it were me I'd partition the drive and let each person have their own setup/login.
This would completely solve the problem. (yes it is a giant pain, but it is cheaper than two computers)
