Just a heads up to those accepting moneyorders from outside the United States.
I just got notice from my bank that a money order from the UK bounced this week. I thought Moneyorders were good as gold, I was wrong. Thought you might like to know...
I guess three bounces in three years is a decent record...Two were made good but I am doubting this one will...

I have heard this before... that on occasions a money order can be "stopped" - which to us is no different than a bad check. It's a rarity from what I hear and I have never experienced it. I just tuck the knowledge in the back of my head and if I am shipping something rather expensive overseas paid by money order... I wait a bit before I send it - and I explain the situation to the buyer.

You have to be careful with MO some times.
ALWAYS verify the buyers ID after the Auction ends. If the buyers showa as John Doe from St. Petesburg FL and the MO comes from Boston, MA... there is a problem.
Byers can register with ANYNAME and STATE they like. No verification from E-Bays part.
You can make a MO, mail it and go to the Post Office or Grocery etc, with the receipt, tell them that you lost it, pay a small fee and ...that's it. They cancel it in the system and you are done.
I prefer Checks some time. Why? I have the Buyers Name, Address, Banking account number, and banks phone number.

Wow, now I'm really worried. I just received a MO from UK today for 865.00 for an auction that ended 11/29
The buyer has 4 feedback, all good, but none of the purchases with feedback are any where near 865.00
The buyer has since made 2 other purchases, one for 530.00 & 1913.00 neither one completed so I don't have much to go on.
I plan to deposit the MO tomorrow, how long do I have to wait to know if it's cleared or not & when it clears can they later reverse the payment?
