I would like to get my website (http://www.vettingstoys.com/)added to some search engines like yahoo, excite, google, ect. I do a little bit of selling on ebay, but I mainly want to get my picture guides out so everyone can use them. I would like to do this for free or for a small cost. I don't want to bother submitting them to those search engines that no one uses via those submit your site to 100+ search engine deals. Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks, Mike

You can submit your site at no cost to Google if you go here:

http://www.google.com/addurl.html

There is also a search engine forum here where you can learn lots:

the latest fad is OVERTURE where you bid for keywords, the higher you bid,the higher your ranking when someone does a search for that word, and you pay the bid price everytime someone click on your site.
keywords could be mastiff,toys,barbie etc.
overture requires you to fund the account first and that money can go quickly, before you know it,you could be out of few hundred dollars,
clicking on your site does not mean buying from you.
google is starting something similar ,you dont need to fund ahead ,just give them your credit card .
just think ,you go to bed everynite thinking you can be BROKE by next morning.

Hi do not pay anyone!! you can get in them all free,,use www.submitplus.com www.addme.com & www.bravenet.com & yes submit direct on any ones you like & you will be surprised(look for free search engine submission link)..be sure you have your meta tags, title, & description, keywords(don't use the same words over & over, use like doll, dollhouse, auction, vintage, like that..not dollhouse auctions, vintage auctions, make sure they are perfect BEFORE you submit.(USE META TAG CHECKER) THEN use some of the words in the ACTUAL title description & body of your site,,you'll see how it works,it is very fun..there are easy forms that make them for you at submit plus & at bravenet.just type in the info hit go & scroll down there they are in html(be sure to check them,.look for free "meta tag checker"..be sure & paste them into the very top of your webpage(they won't show).ALL THIS IS FREE...Never submit to the FFA PAGES you will get tons of emails from creepy sites..its not good.the ones i gave you are the best they will send you a free newsletter that is it..& you can check no on that at submitplus...addme wants a tiny box on your website in exchange ..bravenet is just free has guest books,,all that great stuff..to make fun bannersfor your site go to www.addesigner.com again FREE
good luck to you..ps don't pay! LOL you may resubmit approx every month without being penalized search engines don't like it if you submit too often..
