I have a Netscape browser - and lately my pages keep freezing up and locking - prompting me to re-boot my system constantly.

Someone told me that I need to clean out my cookies possibly. Some give me some directions on how to do that? I've already cleaned the disk and cache space...

Thanks!

There is a tutorial here. Scroll down to Netscape. It's easy to do once you know how.

Go to Tools-Internet Options-Settings-View Files. This will give you your cookies. Clean out everything you want out. Be careful-if you don't want to have to log in your homepage or your email don't delete those cookies. Good Luck!!!

Well, I de-fragged my system, cleaned the cache and disk space and deleted all my temp files, altho I'm yet to figure the cookies!

I have Netscape 4.7 and when I go into "preferences" to "advanced" and look thru all those different things - there is NOTHING about cookies anywhere! I even took the time to check thru them all! Augh!

I even go to "tools" and there is NOTHING there that says "internet options".

I'm still getting freeze-ups after all that I've done.

I have Windows ME by the way.

Any more help folks, please?

Thanks in advance...

To clean out your cookies click in this order

my computer
"C" drive
windows
cookies

then from the top menu bar click "edit"
drop down to "select all"
then either click the DELETE button
or click from the top menu bar "file"
drop down to "delete"

you may be prompted to confirm deletion of each and every single cookie or you can click "yes to all" in the prompt box

hope this helps

Everything related to Netscape's browser is in the Netscape folder.

I think you would be much better served by using IE 6 and Outlook Express. The caveat would be that you have at least 128mb of RAM.

I like Netscape, but they've still not yet arrived.

I finally got a few more things done. I was able to clean out my cookies - and amazing the only ones that were in there - were from Hewlett Packard (which is what type of computer I have). Since I wasn't able to get "internet options" from my "tools", instead I went into "start" to "search" to "files and folders" and typed in: *tmp - which pulled up all of my temporary internet files and deleted all of them! Things are running along a lot more smoothly now!

Also, here's a webpage I found:

www.coookiecontrol.org

Alot of helpful ideas there!
