Paid for auction by Paypal two hours after auction closed on a Wed. evening. Seller ships the item THE NEXT WEEK !!!!

I should pay so slow ? I ALWAYS ship next business day after payment (except for check holds).

Why wasn't the item shipped Thursday or Friday ? I have had this same thing happen with 4 sellers in the last 30 days.

Serve your customers or I'll make them my customers.

Who knows REAMOND? I was sick last week so I couldn't ship my items until three days later. If this seller doesn't work on weekends, then you have to take that into consideration as well. Three business days is reasonable. I like to ship the same or next day, but I have a life -- and I like it to interfere with eBay sometimes

Found out it was shipped a week later on Wed..

So if the seller "is sick or has another life" then we should accept the same excuses from buyers that take a long time to pay. Maybe I should wait a week or 10 days before paying if I have other things going on.

3 business days before shipping an item is unreasonable.

I ship within 24 hours of receiving payment unless payment arrives on Saturday afternoon. Then item is shipped Monday morning. I work full time days at a regular job and can still do this.

Sellers who have all these excuses for not shipping daily should quit selling or end their sales on the day before their regular shipping day.

I pay with paypal(if it is a payment option) as soon as I know the total and to wait a week or more for shipment is totally unreasonable.

IMO, seller needs to explain the situation if they ship one week after payment. That would tick me off! Unfortunately, I've rarely received an explanation unless I wrote to ask.

My buyers are allowed up to 21 to 30 days to pay. How many days do you allow? Of course, I like quick payment -- but can appreciate buyers that send a little later so I can pace my packing over several days... LOL

Prices are down on most antiques and collectibles; however, bidders expect more, more, and more, in the way of service. The same people that quibble over a twenty-five cent handling fee, will expect shipment within 24 hours. That is not F A I R.

I ship within one to four days of payment, 2/3 being average. If that is not good enough, I'll be done eBaying soon. Really, looks like things are heading in that direction anyway. A recent neutral feedback left on my profile stated "took a little long to ship, recd. 7 days." No apologies here...

If I knew who REAMOND's seller was, I would write to him advising that he drop PayPal as a payment option.

Instant payment creates bidder expectations of quick shipping. It's obvious many sellers don't feel obligated to ship quickly, however. Perhaps they feel they shouldn't have to make a special effort to ship quickly, since the net PayPal payment is usually less than the net from a check or money order.

What did the TOS say? Or didn't they say anything.

I try and ship next day but with the postal service here and work sometimes it is impossible. But, I do mail the 2nd day for sure because I only work every other day. I state that in my auction and I write that when I receive their payment. I treat my customers how I would like to be treated but sometimes when I buy their shipping ethics are different. There is nothing that I need immediately so I can wait...

I just won/paid for an auction with Paypal 2/25. Their ad states "ship in 3 business days" and then also states "on holiday 2/28-3/6." Plus, this is shipping as Media. So, I'm going to assume that I won't get my stuff until March. I'm not in a hurry for this particular item and they said it all in the ad, so I'm happy. I've bought from them before and trust them.

I do accept unusual circumstances when payments are delayed. It is important to me to maintain the "mom&pop" image of our business and treating people like I want to be treated is a big part of that. My feedback reflects that as well.

Yes, we ship fast..........MOST of the time. But if we are ill, have a crises in the family, are out treasure hunting, etc. we will make shipment just as soon as possible afterwards.

I tell my bidders in the end of auction email that we "generally ship within 2 business days of receiving payment". Have NEVER had a complaint and I've been at this for nearly 5 years. Oh, and I don't wait for checks to clear either. One bad check in 5 years and it was made good immediately after I contacted the bidder. Of course we do not sell stuff that attracts very young bidders nor do we sell run-of-the-mill, made in Taiwan, as-seen-on tv things that you can get for less at any superstore.

The only way we could guarantee shipping in 24 hours would be to hire help. I do make money at this and hired help would eat up a bunch of the profits. Just not going to happen!

I ship once a week. Do I need to make excuses? My world doesn't revolve around eBay. I give my bidders five weeks to get payment in.

Thank you twinsoft!! My god, we've gone from expecting packages in 4-6 weeks to expecting them tomorrow. You people are insane, relax a little, your package will arrive. . . oh yeah and read auction descriptions they often tell you when they ship, ie: once a week. Happy bidding!

No one says you have to ship the next day or next week. My issue is that if a customer takes the time and effort buy my product and to pay me quickly, I owe them at least the same consideration, if not more.

This is a customer service issue as well as an "image" issue for the seller.

I leave no room for error in letting the customer know that I think their transaction is important and appreciated.

This reminds me of an earlier thread. I always ship within 2 days, even if I just get a personal check for the item, and if it's half.com I've been scrupulous about shipping within 24 hours. I mentioned that I now write on each package, near the address label, "Half.com order, shipped ________ date," same with Ebay. Someone suggested the buyer could just look at the postmark--but I don't think they do! What pushed me over the edge was one lousy feedback (4.5) on Half.com--everything was "just dandy, but book arrived later than others I had ordered." For that, my perfect 5.0 feedback rating went to 4.9 and has stayed there for a couple of months. I know I shipped the book the next business day, and I just figured that from now on I needed to point out to my buyers CLEARLY the date I ship.

if it says "ship once a week" then that allows buyers to know when they can expect the item. it also lets the buyer know this seller wants your money and doesn't give one fig about you as a customer.

if it doesn't say you only ship once a week in your tos, then it should.
