With all of the eBay advertising on the radio, TV and in the paper, it seems as though we're going through a slump. Maybe because we do mostly collectibles - I haven't heard that category mentioned in any of the sales pitches. I was just wondering if anyone else is going through a slump now also - first of the month, tax time, economy? A lot of the categories I look at have very few new items added. Thanks for your thoughts!

There is no question that my sales slow down around the first of every month. I must have a lot of buyers who are scraping together the rent or mortgage money.

I do most of my selling on Half and the last few days have been completely dead.

My antique and collectible sales are down too; so much so that I am discontinuing selling antiques on eBay, and am moving in to an antique mall next weekend to try and pick up sales.

My electronics are selling, but not as well as last week. I agree - the beginning of the month slump.

My sales have slipped into nonexistant time to go get a real job.

My sales are down too on craft books, lots of people looking, only a 25c bid in the last 2 days!

My sales (mostly books) have actually picked up in the last several weeks. I am very pleased. More multiple bids, too.

I've pulled most of my stuff off E-Bay and I am going to list most everything on Yahoo.Five cents sure beats thirty cents, and my sales on E-Bay suck anyhow so I don't have a whole lot to lose. This is the worst I've seen sales since I've started selling on the internet.Although I'm doing fair on Amazon marketplace.

sales since the start of the year have been outstanding for me. Selling rate is 94% with at or above avg prices so I have no complaints at all !

Seems like around 7am Pacific, yesterday, the whole think shut down. I had 7 pretty good items going, and getting regular bidding, but only 1 bid in the last 30 hours. Some are closing today, hope they all wake up or come home and start bidding again. LOL.

Selling a number of kinds of items on several different venues really gives me a little more insight into buying patterns.

As I posted earlier, I do notice a slowdown around the change of month. I also find that half.com often has more orders than usual to be confirmed on the first of the month. I wonder if that is people redeeming coupons about to expire, or if they hold back end of month orders a day or two so they can hold on to my money for an extra two weeks. (Wouldn't put it past them..)

However this weekend one line of mine is pretty dead, while another series of auctions I posted on Thursday with a 10 day run already has half the items bid on, several with more than one bid.

So some up, some down, overall a mixed bag.

I also sell Antiques and Collectibles and sales have been way down- I can almost trace the time the slide started to the time EBAY began the" Item Watch"feature. People don't have to place a bid-all they have to do is watch what other people are doing- I have had many after sale Emails saying that I had your item on my watch list but I wasn't home when the auction ended- This was the worst move for sellers EBAY ever made-

Bidding was down during the Olympics for me, but the relists are getting bids. Big surge of buys on Half last week.

My sales this last month are coming from the northern states where it is still cold out so I don't expect any drop off of bidding.

Sell through on Yahoo also went up.

Listing counts are up to 7.4 million, no wonder sales are dead.

My sales are up slightly. I think one of the things that helped pick up sales was herding bidders to my About Me page and then reworking that page with links to my current auctions. I'm getting more bids overall and more multiple bids. I'm a part-time eBay seller.

Finally broke my dry spell this morning on half with a decent order. I had done so well in the previous couple of periods that I was beginning to wonder.
