Anyone care to share what destination scan rates they are getting with the free/0.12c eDelivery Confirmation?

My packages seem to get scanned only about 30-40% of the time at the destination. If I use a bright-gree label and pay the 35c they almost always get scanned. =(

Has anyone tried using a green highlighter to bring attention to the bar codes?

I have this feeling that many carriers just look for the bright green tag and otherwise ignore.

I put in LARGE GREEN TYPE the following message on all my items and get approx 99% scan rate -- the PO only attempts a 95% scan rate

PLEASE SCAN ME!

I have been printing out the free DC Priority labels from the USPS website on plain white labels. Mine always seem
to get scanned.

But I have also taped ONE DOLLAR BILLS
to my packages with a message for the postman to please scan my package. This also works.

Sometimes it just helps to pay them a little extra

Purchase some green paper stock, be sure to take the Post Office D.C. label with you to compare the same color - colour.

Scan rates for Media and Priority Mail labels created by Endicia customers are running at 95%.

I also agree that a green highlighter applied to parts of the shipping label can't hurt. Carriers have historically only scanned things with green coloring, so these all B&W labels are taking a while to get their attention.

I think it helps a bit to use the suggested USPS standard label design ala:

I get a few that aren't scanned. I think I will add the text "SCAN THIS LABEL" above my DC on the endicia labels I print and then highlight with a green highlighter. Good idea! Thanks!

I'm a small volume seller, so my little numbers might not mean that much to you. Of the last approximately 20 packages I've sent, I've used the USPS software and printed my own labels. Only one of those didn't get scanned at destination but they entered the insurance tracking number (which isn't trackable on the website). These have been mostly media mail and about 5 priority packages. I don't like that they don't scan up-front and there may be times I opt for the green label instead. I wish they'd go ahead and scan them all up front.
