Yeah, amazing when the stock went down, there were a rash of posts saying told you so, but now that it is higher again, nothing at all...I didn't invest in this company, and don't plan to. Just an observation.

Yeah, I had a friend who teased me when it was at 12.50. He said, come on get 100. When it gets to 18, you can sell.

Sheesh!

I've done well so far. I purchased company directed IPO shares and sold some of the stock the first day for a 54% profit. I got my original investment back, plus a small profit and kept the balance of my stock just in case something nice ends up happening to this company.

The short position that everyone thought was a slam dunk, certainly isn't looking so good right now. I'm betting that a large number of smaller players are being forced to cover right now. This activity will only further elevate the price.

Yes, the price has gone back up, but look at the volume. It has really plummeted, to only 747,900 shares.

BTW, the CEO, Peter Thiel, only paid himself $280,000 last year. I wish someone would pay me $280,000 to lose $24,000,000.

By the way, I was digging around in TESS (Trademark Electronic Search System)

http://tess.uspto.gov/bin/gate.exe?f=tess&state=9fcah5.1.1

I entered PayPal in, and look at the description that they gave when they filed for their trademark which was just given a Notice of Allowance on 1-8-02

IC 009. US 021 023 026 036 038. G & S: Software for processing electronic payments to and from others; authentication software
IC 036. US 100 101 102. G & S: Clearing and reconciling financial transactions via a global computer network; Providing a wide variety of banking services and providing financial services, namely, credit card services, processing and transmission of bills and payments thereof, and insurance for financial transactions conducted via global computer network

But, of course, we all know they aren't trying to be a bank. They told us so.

I'm investing in Paypal because I use it so often. I don't consider that a gamble. That's the Peter Lynch way of investing. IPO's normally drop after a short while because they were quickly overvalued. The market will finally determine the fair value.

If internet message boards had existed in the 50s you would have found a large group agreeing that Xerox was a fad and carbon paper was the only way to go.

Some think email payments are a fad, some don't.
