I've been an ebay seller for 3 years and have more than 500 positive feedbacks.

I also have an online weirdo bothering me and I fear that this person could win one of my auctions and then know my name and address.Online weirdo also knows my email addy I have hooked up with that account.

I'd like to use a different ID(my business name) I forgot I had and set up a few years before my current account.)

How do I go about doing that ?
Can I just use my old account and then later on migrate my current feedback to the other account ?

I don't want the person to be able to find
out the account I'll be using so how do you keep it from the ID history ?

Thanks,
eyedo

eyedo, who's bothering you? Is there anyway you could report him to eBay so you don't have to go through all of this??

You can use your second account anytime. If you decide not to use it again, you can merge the 2 email accounts to 1, but it's always nice to keep an extra acct. just in case.

You cannot migrate your feedback - feedback is exclusive to the user ID, not the person behind the user ID.

To avoid the "online weirdo", you can change you email address associated with the account. The person will not "know your name and address". At worst, they can pull you contact info, which gives them your name and phone number. Yes, they could do a reverse phone directory search and find your address, but most people don't know how to do that. My suggestion would be just block the bidder. You can do so at:

Hope this helps.

The person knows my email addy as well as my ebay ID.

How's that ? Well,I've posted in "For sale" news groups-with pointers to my auctions.

reporting to ebay would not help.
If he bid on one of my auctions,he could easily get my contact info.

He lives in my city too.

So,I just want to change the ID.

I was considering unregistering my current ID and after 30 days merging the
old ID with the new ID. I think that's legal.

As I said before, feedback is exclusive to each individual user ID. You cannot "merge the old ID with the new ID". If that isn't what you mean, please explain.

I don't know what you mean by weirdo.

Block his ID on Ebay and forget about it.

However, if he contacts you, e-mail, phone, etc, tell him to stop.

If he continues, take the evidence to your local police. If it is e-mail, print them out and show them to the police. If it is by phone check your phone book for tracing harrassing phone calls.

I'm in a big city.
Calling the police and filing a complaint gets you nowhere in my town.

I don't know his ebay ID to block a bid if he made one.And he could use an anonymous ID anyway.

I'm in the public eye in my area(I'm on tv and radio quite a bit) and I'll tell you from my years in the media(and being engaged to a policeman for many years and having a family member as a judge,
they have alot more concerns than finding someones hands to slap thats bothering someone.

Unless someone actually commits a crime such as showing up on your property(and thats questionable too),it really will just be buried under papers.

Reality in the big city.

Yes, according to eBay, you can merge your two IDs and feedback into one.

To block a bidder form your auctions, go to this page. It's simple, and effective.

http://pages.ebay.com/services/buyandsell/biddermanagement.html

After that, I would block him from sending emails to me. To do this, go to outlook express. On the toolbar you will find a tab that says MESSAGE. Pull up one his messages, click on the MESSAGE tab and click block sender. That takes about 5 seconds to do. This might take care of him for the time being.

You might want to consider changing your mailing address to a post office box also.

If he lives in the same town as you, why not just drive over to his house and kick his ass?

A person using the telephone to harass someone should be reported to the phone company. Having the guy lose his phone service might end all his methods of harassment.

Question: Even if one changes his ebay ID..couldnt someone just do a search on the old Ebay ID and the new one would come up? Is this person stalking you and in what way? There are anti-stalking laws in some states..maybe you should look into that.

Hi

I am not so sure that "kicking his ass" is the answer. If anyone does not believe this please read Gavin De Becker's book The Gift of Fear.

Sometimes the best reponse is no response.

I'm with YEAGER. His/Her suggestions are great. Even if you don't know the weirdo's user ID on Ebay, try putting their email address (you have that) in the Bidder Search box. That may very well turn up their user ID and then you can use that to block their bids. Get hoppin'. No point in sitting there worrying about it. There are things you can do.
