Two Days no bids! I have crazy open bids and was rather freaked to see no action! I got an email yesterday from a bidder saying they could not bid! this morning I get another from another bidder, " I tried to bid but it won't let me!"
I checked the bidder block list and they are not on it (it is a small list)

All auctions are running and I listed a store front auction two days ago, just seems to be a bidding problem. Could someone have broke in and changed something?

WOW

This is kind of a freak situation. I have many emails out to eBay, it is now 4AM out by them, I gotta sit and wait to call at 9AM, I can have some serious cash loss! I open some auctions below my cost!

NIGHTMARE!

Has anyone ever seen this before?

What more can I do to get fast help?

Is somebody at ebay at this hour?

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Close all your auctions early until you have figured out the source of the problem.

Hi AA,
I also had a no bidding day recently on ebay, and discovered what was happening. I posted an explanation that's further down the list here but will copy it for you. If you use a banner or logo in your auction page,it may be the mischief maker.
.
An important caveat about the logos from companies such as paypal, billpoint, bidpay, c2it, payingfast, etc.....About 10 ten days ago, bidpay's home site was down all day and the logos on my auctions couldn't contact home in order to get the display instructions. The result was that my auctions would partially load and then stall, at the logo position, but without showing any of the auction page. It was by accident that I discovered this.
.
What it means is that no one could view my auctions while bidpoint was down and that's why I wasn't getting any bids or even counter
increases. This probably happened to everyone that used bidpoint logos. I suspect they remained unaware of the problem throughout. I removed all logos and added links to my EOA email instead.

Every thing loads okay, pageview is fine, nothing is newly added. I do a that squaretrade seal for a couple months, that is the newest addition. I have emailed ebay, auction guild, and I am now contacting squaretrade to find out if they know of this problem or if that unique seal banner can conflict. I do not think it is any html issue, but, I will investigate anything till ebay contacts me.

Authorized Art,

Have you tried viewing your auctions with different browsers? Each browser handles HTML a little differently. Internet Explorer is usually much more lenient with HTML mistakes than Netscape is. You may wish to check and make sure you've included the ending tags for all your tables, etc... Also... try to find out from the bidders who contacted them what browser they were using. That could help you narrow down the problem. Hope that helps!

I use AW pro to launch my html created with macromedia programs. the html is clean, I do use IE and deleted the NEtScape as well as Opera, I felt they took up room and I had never used them, so...

I just checked the review bid on a couple of my auctions, the one said the bid amount was incorrect, cause I didn't put an amount in. One of the auctions I had an email on flips me to a page for a search! it has a search box "Please specify a query."

NOW, this is a eBay issue, not mine as far as I see, the review bid link is JACKED...

Thanks for the help and ongoing support.

From ebay - this might help out the next eBayer. sounds a little like "eauctionmgnt" mentioned.

==========================================

Hello,

Thank you for writing eBay about difficulty with buyers viewing your
listing. I am glad for this chance to help you and I am sorry to hear
of the trouble.

You may wish to ask them to try a different browser. I am not sure what
they are using or what item number is having trouble being viewed.

Or it may be trouble with HTML of that item description if they are
viewing a listing using Netscape. There is a problem that can be caused
by a mistake in the HTML code fro item description, which prevents the
Netscape browsers from reading the entire page. As this error lies in
the code submitted in the description, eBay cannot correct this. We are
not able to change a seller's description in any way.

One may wish to view that item with the MSIE (Internet Explorer)
browser, as it is much more forgiving of HTML errors of this nature and
will display the full page.

To fix it, you could try adding any missing tags by adding to item
description the missing tag. Usually a "table" tag is the difficulty.

To access the "Adding to Your Item Description" page, please click on
the link below:

http://pages.ebay.com/services/buyandsell/add-to-item.html

Then enter the information you would like to add.

You can also access this page by clicking on site map located on the
Navigation Bar at the top or bottom of most eBay pages. When the eBay
site map page opens, click on "Add to my item description" located under
"Services".

It was my pleasure to be able to assist you. Thank you for using eBay.

=======================================

I went into a few auctions and revised item, I just changed some store catagories, added a counter, checked discover, AMX, other, then revised - and, from what I can tell it is okay. It might have simply not loaded correctly, time will tell......

If you want to post a link here I will try to bid. I use IE with a cable modem.

Becky

One of the people did just bid, so, it could have been a browser
problem, I do not know. I use ie xp with satellite and "I" hit review bid
without putting a bid and was brought to a search page. I simply have
no clue what it was unless it was not launched properly or a conflict with some banner or html.

All I can do is watch closer. In a nut shell, I have a problem listing (relisting) with Internet Explorer, I was told to use NEtscape (which I no longer have) to launch, re-launch, update, - yet, they say that netscape might have a problem viewing or bidding.

sounds like a problem to me.

BEcky,

I just emailed you!

I emailed a link to one of the auctions that will not go through, I am
"simply" going to revise item, clicking the visa, discover, AMX,
adding a counter and revising, the problem seems to go away! I am
still finding more.

I don't get it!

I THINK I FOUND IT!

I took the html and put it on a "high tech" macromedia html program,

at the very bottom where (if you use AW pro to launch)
it says

"Low cost image hosting and full service auction management solutions: AuctionWatch"

An error came up as </p> like a page break
< / p > I somply deleted that, and it is fixed. I BELIEVE, when I put that hidden counter it absorbed that error page break thus, YOU BETTER CHECK YOUR AUCTIONS!

AW can phone me for details.

It really helps to look at your html with the different browsers.

I also don't use ANY of the usual image logos. eBay sticks their BillPoint stuff below, but that's their problem. Any graphic that you don't need is just one more thing to slow down page loading. For many users who still have slow dial-up connections this can be the kiss of death.
