This seems very strange to me. I'm on my desktop computer most of the time and never have any pop-up ads with auctionwatch (since they stopped using them). But on my husbands desktop he gets them all the time. He has no other web sites open (or on his taskbar - or anything else). Anyone know why that would happen? He gets a dating one routinely and others also.

Well, I ran adaware and deleted everything it told me to, but he's still getting them. Anyone have other suggestions? Should I increase his security settings?
Look through the list of tasks that are still active - perhaps something may look suspicious.
If so, click Start, Programs, Accessories, System Tools, System Information. (I >>never<< remember what the command is to launch it.)
Click "Tools" on the menu bar and select System Configuration Utility.
Click the StartUp tab and remove the check next to the offending item (or anything else you don't want started when your machine starts up).
Click OK and the close the utility. You will be prompted about restarting your machine. Go ahead, and check to see your results.
Important note: If anything is unfamiliar and you are unsure what it is, don't take any unilateral action. You can send me an e-mail at [email protected], I'll see what I can do to help.
