Hi all - wondered your thoughts on the following.
One of my very best customers received an email from another seller after one of my auctions ended (this customer was the winner of it). In the email, the seller told my customer that she "way overpaid" for the item, and I made a huge profit on it (which I didn't, but nevertheless...). The other seller added that her price on that same item
is $xx and all her others are far lower, too.

So, what do you make of this? It's not exactly auction interference as the auction was over. And BTW, I occasionally get safeharbor warnings in batches over various trivial things (email address in the listing, etc.). I now know who's behind the harassment.

Thanks in advance! Di
On a scale of 1 to 10...we'd all weigh a lot less!

Chances are they contacted your bidder through ebay's system, so they probably have some sort of record of this. Even though the auction ended, it is still interference, because in effect they are telling your bidder not to follow through, and buy it from them. This would cause you to get your fees back, which affects Ebay's bottom line - That line they don't like affected, so they will probably take some sort of action

You know (and I have seen this elsewhere in other posts too).....

Just because something is against eBay's rules does not make it "illegal" or a "crime".

Don't take the term lightly - there are people doing horrible illegal things on eBay and deserve to rot in jail for them; But breaking most eBay rules hardly constitutes a "crime".

I don't think it is a crime, but it is auction interference. Have the buyer send the e-mail to safeharbor with full headers and they will take action.
Good luck,
bp
