Anyone else noticing slow/low price sales this week? I've had some really nice baseball cards on...got no bids/didn't meet minimal reserve. Mine aren't graded but are in excellent condition and I've included lots of photos. Is the market for baseball cards just "down" now or is it the general "climate"? I thought the beginning of baseball season would be the perfect time to begin selling these cards but maybe I was wrong. Opinions/thoughts/ideas?

This weekend has been dismal for me. I set my auctions to close Monday and wasn't really thinking about people doing their taxes last minute instead of browsing the auctions! My counters show that I have not had more than 3 views on the majority of my auctions in the last 3 days! Yikes.....

I should have thought about last minute filers though, I just finished mine an hour ago!

Think I'll go browse awhile and maybe cheer some other seller up!

Not every public school has spring break the exact week of Easter.

My entire county (public schools k-12)had their spring break this last week and everyone is returning tonight. I work in a restaurant and this entire week has been absolutely dismal.

That and probably taxes *shrugs*

And it's because of these idiots who wait until the last minute to file their taxes - is why I will have to wait until Tuesday to mail out my eBay packages, rather than stand in a mile long line at the post office today!

It's the same crap every year. It's like a "game" to these people - filing at the last minute. Ridiculous, if you ask me...

I had to go to the post office this morning since i promissed an ebayer i would mail her item ..... lines were out the door before 9 am and not because of ebay sellers mailing .... all were for tax mailings !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was looking on ebay last night at a lot of different things that usually would have bids and didn't or maybe only had 1 bid ... wish i had been in a buying or bidding mood ... could have gotten a ton of great deals !!
Also noticed that there wasn't as much stuff coming up by searching using key words.... only would get like 1 page and months ago many pages would have come up
My auctions are doing OK but not great ... i guess i will need to start them higher because i can't afford to give everything away

Not gina 50 on ebay

So THAT's what is is!! I put in some low bids on quilts & ended up with a stack of them. Was so surprised (even felt a little guilty). Not much happening on my items. Where are all those people expecting refunds??

Boy, I am an IDIOT!!!!!

idiot, idIOT, I-D-I-O-T.......

Actually it's a tradition I started while in college. Sort of my own little protest.

I never get a refund and have even had to give them more! I really hate when that happens...especially since I don't care much for the way they spend my hard earned money so I refuse to give it to them one second before I absolutely am forced to.

If my local PO was one of those that stayed open until midnight on April 15th, I would hand mine in at 11:59:59!

POWER TO THE LAST MINUTE TAX FILERS!!!

BROTHERHOOD OF IDIOTS AND PROUD OF IT!!!

POWER TO THE PEOPLE!!!

Gotto go- I need to take my place in line with all my fellow IDIOTS!!!!!

Bids have been down for me too this week. 'Went to the PO this morning and the line was the longest I can remember, longer than the longest Christmas line. 'Didn't have time to wait, I'll try again tomorrow.

Unfortunately our main post office encourages the late filers by making a party of it with free pizza from Dominos (donated by Dominos) and softdrinks.

Fortunately I went to the local post office out in the country near my son's school to mail my package today and there was no one in line, lucky me!

I'm pre-stamping what I can to drop off. International and priority packages over 16 ounces will have to wait. You're insane if you don't have to wait in line today but you do!

I filed last night, but that was because we were waiting on a loan in order to pay our taxes.

But I did it online. No post office for me!

I did notice that when I went to turbotax.com to retrieve some last minute info from last year's return that it was soooooo slooooooow. Our returns have been done for over a month, just waiting on that money.

Other than taxes only being for those that are subject to them, my opinion is this...

Do your tax forms as early as possible. (the moment you get all your forms together.) If you are getting money back, file it asap. IF you aren't getting anything back, but you owe money. Hold your forms for six months, while filing for extensions. Put the money you owe in a high-profit short-term investment, (cd or other) and then when it is that last possible moment, pay them and keep the money from the interest. AFter all, they kept your money all last year while you could have been using it as capital in an investment, when you didn't owe them a dime until April 15th, (or whenever the extension runs to)

The IRS is running a scam on Americans.

I went to the Clawson, Mi PO today only because it was on the way to someplace else I was going. I quit going there over a year ago because they told me I could ship only 10 packages at a time... then had to get back in line.

I'd like to see them try that at Walmart. Can you imagine pulling up in a shopping cart full of stuff and the checker telling you you bought too much...that she could only ring up half of it and then you'd have to get back in line for the rest?

Anyways, the clerks there mostly have an attitude. Once last year I did a one-time stop there and was told I was inelegible to ship something BOUND PRINTED MATTER because i was not a big company....I was told it was not for individuals, which is BS.

So today there was a new clerk there and she wasn't even a sweathog like the rest of them, but again I had a problem.

I presented her with a Priority Box with the computer printed label from their own web site which has the free delivery confirmation included. Obviously she had not seen one before and this is not a problem for me because even though this feature has been available for about 1 year, I constantly have to explain it to clerks at the post Office.

She pointed to the Delivery confirmation and asked me, "has this been paid for yet"?

Well that question seemed to be tougher than it appeared, sort of like, "have you stopped beating your wife?"

If I said YES I would not be telling the truth, and if I said NO she would likely charge me for it so I answered, "it's free, there is no charge for that."

Instead of inquiring politely for details about something she didn't understand, she fired back, "That was not the question."

I felt a bit like I was a hostile witness on the stand vs. Perry Mason, but I brushed it off and explained that there was no simple yes or no answer to her question and that I felt I did answer the question, and as her hands were still on the keyboard, I added, "don't you dare charge me for it."

My tone of voice was matter-of-fact and I was not in a bad mood, but she countered, "Why do you have to be so rude? I can see it's going to be a long day."

Which blew my mind. I felt if anybody was rude it was her with her "That was not the question." remark, but now I was being told off by the ignorant clerk.

So I gathered my packages up, told he what I thought about her and went to the Berkley PO which has friendly people working there.

We have the same problem quite a bit.

It seems that the PO doesn't let the employees in on any new features. I swear I get irritated as h*ll some times.

If you are using electronic delivery confirmation you should always carry the a copy of the instructions that say it is free.

We had one clerk argue with us about it until we showed her the paper and then she was p*ssed that we proved her wrong.

Speaking of grumpy clerks, we had one postal clerk that weighed each package and then handed us a book of stamps and made us stamp our own packages. It took three times as long as it would have otherwise.

I can't understand holding up the line just to be spiteful..

intercraft, even if you file for an extension, you still have to estimate the amount you owe and submit a check before the 15th.

I have to read in horror what everyone says about thier post office workers. I would be ripping and tearing the place up if they treated me like that. I use two different offices, one more then the other because it is less busy. I have never had an experience like any described here. In the office I use the most, everyone has always been helpful and really hustled when it was busy. People come out of the back to cut the line down when there are more then 10 people. I have seen them run four people on three counter spaces at some points. I am not going to name the PO because I don't want them to get a big head and turn into what I hear about on this board.

My delivery person was another story, she sucked. No longer works for the PO.

No BS. Just happy that I don't have to put up with what you guys are dealing with. I don't even know any postal people that could have paid me to leave good comments!

There is no consistency of customer service from one post office to another. Of the three that I can use, one is superb, another ok, and the third is a complete mess.

I just got a package back from a customer in which someone put black lines through the e Delivery Confirmation bar code so it couldn't be scanned on the receiving end.

I am pretty sure of which clerk is responsible, and will take the matter up with the station supervisor later this week.

The clerk believes the post office should not allow free delivery confirmation, nor allow customers to bother him with packages.
