Just wondering ... I have been selling on ebay for almost 3 years ... ship approx 20 to 30 pkgs a week UDSPS and have never had a buyer say that they didn't receive items.
Now... I have 3 buyers saying that they never received their items from 4/12 ship date...which happened to be right before tax deadline day.
Is anyone else having same problem .. could mail have been pushed a side at PO to deliver tax mailings ??
I am now using delivery confirmation since I sure can't afford to refund money on a regular basis !

Give the "missing" packages at least 30 days to show up. So far, all my "missing" packages showed up withing 30 days.

On items I may have more than one of I used to re-ship after 2 weeks, but the few times I did this the original package showed up sometimes before the second package arrived.

Ask the customer to wait at least 30 days before you settle the issue.

Mail is very slow within a 100 mile radius of any/all IRS processing centers. I've got several overdue shipments right now.

If you're shipping to Columbus, OH or Podunk, NY, your package will arrive in record time. If you're shipping to Andover, MA or Philadelphia, PA or Atlanta, GA or near anyplace on the back of your 1040 booklet, hope it arrives by Memorial Day.

Oh yes! Acting in my Buyer's role last week I finally received a package that had been in transit for 32 days....Now today I get a NPB warning for a $9.99 item that I have paid for two times..first payment a USPS money order sent the day after the auction closed, second payment.. a personal check sent ten days later. It has now been 18 days and seven emails to the Seller since the auction closed. Seller wants me to pay by Bid Pay in the next 24 hours or...?? I will pay and the total for this $9.99 item will now be $43.47 including shipping and Bid Pay fees! Somewhere this mess is lost in the USPS system. Insult to injury..the Seller says I have never contacted her!! Count 'em seven emails and she replied to each of them!

Some is sure slow, had a buyer ask where their package is yesterday. Not sure, but I mailed it on the 29 of march.

Hoping it gets there soon.

I'm getting nervous about one to Germany at 3 weeks now. It was airmail but I think it is too early to stress. I've never had a package go missing yet. At least it was one of the things I insured. PO says no claim until 60 days? How long would you wait to give buyer a refund?

I don't know about you, but if a brick and morter business ships something they use UPS first, fedex second and USPS last.

I have had 4 items lost this year by USPS and they either have not shown up or my customers kept them as I sent out replacements.

I now send under two pounds USPS priority with delivery confirmation and anything over 2 pound via UPS. I have had a few complaints about the shipping fee but my customers all get their merchandise and most leave positive feed back.

We are in business to make money for ourselfs, not try to save someone a couple of dollars in shipping fees and then have to eat the mistakes of the shipping vendor.

I have several people claiming lost packages, I have one that I shipped that was returned to sender over a month later, and one that I bought that took 8 days to travel 500 miles, priority mail. So in short, yes, the USPS stinks right now.

this is my 7th year using good old post office to ship most of my items,97% of these packages ,big and small, intl or domestic, priority, first class or media arrive
undamaged.
it seems usps is more careful handling packages these days.just my own personal experience.

Yes, it is slow. We've had many questions from buyers recently regarding delivery of their packages. Only 1 so far hasn't shown up (shipped in February) but the rest are taking a very long time to get there.

Over the Endicia PC postage user base, we showed the following statistics for last month (March):

Average PM Delivery Time: 3.0 days
Average Media Mail Delivery: 6.0 days

These numbers have held pretty steadily over the past months, and they are based on several hundred thousand packages shipped every month by Endicia users in every state.

Now I have personally seen some very long PM delivery times (and our statistics incorporate these), but the averages are nonetheless impressive.
