What in the world do you have to do to get people (buyers on ebay to leave feedback)
I have had 12 closed auctions with sales and 6 of them have been received by the buyer so for. this has been confirmed by delivery confirmation. I have send feedback reminders to all 6 so for no feedbacks from anyone. Since I am fairly new on ebay this is very inportant to me to build my feedback above 10

Beats me. I've tried everything from gentle reminders to not leaving theirs till they leave mine. On some nothing works! They have all emailed to say they are completely satisfied but then nothing else! So I just go on......

Believe it or not some people I've run into don't know how to leave feedback.
And since it doesn't hinder their buying and selling they don't care about it!

DON'T ASK FOR IT AND DON'T GIVE IT FIRST. WITH 800 FEEDBACKS THIS IS THE VOICE OF EXPERIENCE. THEY WILL BUILD OF THEIR OWN ACCORD. GOOD LUCK.

You MUST leave it first to expect it back. Then when you send the item, send some kind of receipt and politely tell them that you left feedback and to please return the favor. You can expect about 85% will leave feedback if you do this. If you beg for it if they don't give it in return, then expect to start getting negs for being a pain in the rear. Never e-mail a person to tell them to leave feedback. This will hurt you in the long run. If they don't leave it, move on. The feedbacks will come in time.

I have the same problem, only reversed; I am the buyer on over ten recent auctions which I have left positive feedback for the seller , usually on the same day I recieved the item, and they have not done the same. I have over twenty other older transactions that the seller never left feedback. So it's not just the buyers that don't leave it.

p.s. all feedback I have left has been good.

Hi,

I get tons of feedback, in the week I have received over 100 fb, out of 125 packages mailed. I send this little note in the package:
Thanks for your purchase. I hope you are pleased with the item(s). If you have any questions or concerns...please email me at : [email protected]

I love feedback & I know you are happy when you leave me feedback.. I return feedback each evening.

If someone asks me to give them feedback first, I tell them that I don't feel the transaction is complete until the customer lets me know they are happy by leaving feedback. I also let them know that I have a program that leaves feedback automatically each evening for people who leave me feedback.

It works wonderfully for me. Good luck wwtraders1. They will come, just keep selling or buying and it will all fall into place!

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I've found over the last 6-7 months that people are usually waiting until the 90 day limit to leave feedback. Why I couldn't tell you but I'm finding it to be true more and more often. Being a medium seller and rather busy I post feedback once per week. Most buyers are pleased with this and I really don;t have a lot of problems. There really is no way to get someone to leave feedback if they won't take the time. I agree with the previous poster-Leave it alone-don't worry about it and it will build up on its own.

Over the last few months, hardly anyone (buyer/sellers) are leaving feedback. They used to stack up like hot cakes on a grill. Now I'm just glad if I get one now and then.

With the "thank you for payment" e-mail, I have started to include a sentence that says "I enjoy leaving good feedback once I know the item has arrived safely." I'm hoping this will work as a hint.

I agree with others here; nothing works to get them to leave FB. I also get an occasional e-mail telling me they are thrilled with their item, but no FB.

Why do some people wait the 90 days? I don't know. Maybe they think it gives them a 90-day warranty on purchases?

I've been considering adding another form letter (e-mail) to be sent after tracking shows the item was delivered. In it would be a copy of the tracking page with a note, "Positive feedback has been left for you. Please take a moment and do the same for me. Thank you."

Again, I will say the buyers/sellers have been friendly; but where has the FB gone?

When I email the buyer that the payment was received and the package will ship the next day, I ask that they please let me know when it arrives.

Many buyers will just leave positive feedback instead of emailing me when they receive the item.

If I do not hear from them in a week, I email to inquire if they have indeed received the item intact. I ask that they please let me know so that I can leave feedback. When I hear from them I do go ahead and leave feedback at that point. I never ask for feedback but surely appreciate and thank them for it when I do.

ditto to most of the comments here. I get most of my feedback returned. Trying not to be too forward, my wording in the shipping notice is "Please email me when it arrives so that I may complete the transaction." About 1/2 of them post feedback to inform me it arrived and another 1/4 email me. Either way, they get immediate feedback from me. The other 1/4, in 10 days I resend the aw shipped notice, just changing the wording a bit to "....... should have arrived....". Bottom line is over 80% FB success. Sorry to be so long here, but this proceedure works very well for me. Dave

I include a little pre-printed business card with a thank you, my ebay id & the ebay auction number. I think this piece of paper serves as a reminder to many of my buyers. My feedback responses increased dramatically once I began including these cards.

chathamsue,

You may have a point. When I get a card in a box from an eBay seller, I lay it on my computer to remind me to leave FB. That's sounds like a nice idea.

seems like nowadays buyer wont leave feedback until seller does and vice versa in fear of getting a neutral/neg and not being able to retaliate hence the downturn in the number of people leaving feedback.
