Happy July 5th everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful and safe holiday. Now for the perplexment:
I am usually selling but recently bid on two auctions. After 2 days of auction close, I had still not heard from the sellers. The first one I sent a cordial email reminding them that they had a winner and needed info to send them payment. two days later I received a short email from one of them that only included their address. I hope this isnt the way they do business or I wonder if I will really get the item after I send payment. this seller has 30 postives and no negatives. I hope I am ok. Both items were fairly inexpensive items.
On the other has over 100 positives but 5 negatives and 4 nuetrals for poor communications, broken items, missing parts. I wonder if I will ever hear from the 2nd seller. How long should I wait for a reply from seller number 2? a week? Should I send payment with signature required? GEEZ, I have over 100 positive FB's myself and NO negatives mostly for selling. I just wonder about people like this. Should I be worried?
Thanks ahead of time for your input. I guess I am just a worrier.

Could be the time of year vacations? Or could be they are trying to figure out how much postage is??? I wouldn't send money until they reply. give them a few days, sometimes the internet server or your PC goes down, and it could be rude sellers. Guess you have to hang in there.
Good luck

I had a similar incident recently.
Sniped an auction with 3 sec left. Emailed the buyer- no response. Couple of days later, emailed again, using 'ask seller a question'. No response. Unblocked ALL my email filters (long shot that his emails were being blocked, but whatever- eliminate any possiblity)- no response. After about 6 emails without response, I reported this guy as a non-selling-seller and asked ebay to verify this guy's contact info. Next day the guy made contact with me.
Not sure if the guy was po'd that I sniped or he just changed his mind on selling. Unblocking my filters is getting me 30+ spams a day now. I'm putting the filters back on.

This is a growing problem with automated end of auction notices. Sellers, usually powersellers, rely upon those automated notices and feel since they use them, it gives them the right to not reply to questions or inquiries of winning bidders. This IMHO is a big reason why sales online are dropping. Too many sellers do not deal with personal e-mails any more. Automation is nice and convenient, but it does give the buyer the cold shoulder.

This is probably just a casual seller that doesn't understand the importance of communication in online auctions. I wouldn't worry about it.
Edited to add: We will sometimes take a couple of days to contact the buyer after the auction ends. It depends on our schedule and if the auction ends on a weekend, holiday, etc. People have 3 business days to make contact according to Ebay guidelines.
