Hi! I received a check returned for insufficient funds. It wasn't for a large amount, but I'm still irritated. This person took over a month to send this bad check. I attempted to contact him, but have received no response. Any ideas on how to handle this? I've considered resubmitting the check, but if it doesn't clear again, I have another service charge added to my account. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I got a bad check once. I called their bank to ask if funds were available because if there is money there, you can redeposit and get the $$$.
Either way, I would definitely go after the buyer for the fees that your bank charged you. I asked my bank and the rep said that they fully expect you to go after the bad check writer for the money. The bad check fee for my bank is $10 per check.

LESSON LEARNED. PAY PAL AND MONEY ORDERS ONLY. PERSONAL CHECKS ARE LIKE NO CHECK. RETURN IT TO THE SENDER AND TELL THEM TO USE THE OTHER TWO OPTIONS AND STATE IT CLEARLY IN YOUR NEW AUCTIONS. DO NOT SAY I DO NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS BUT WHEN THE LOSER LIKE THIS ONE SENDS A RUBBER CHECK SEND IT BACK. HERE A PERSONAL CHECK IS THE SAME AS SAYING,,,,,,,I AIN'T GOT NO MONEY HONEY. BUT! I SENT PAYMENT. THOSE WHO REFUSE TO READ,,,,,,,,YUP AND THE REAL SHOCKER IS "YOU" PAY THE $10.00!!!!!!! UNREAL. THAT CHECK WILL "NEVER" BE ANY GOOD AND THE LOW LIFE KNOWS IT. WELCOME TO THE WORLD.
2,000 checks and only one bad one and I got my money and bank fees back on that one. Sellers that do not accept personal checks may lose some sales because of it just like sellers that will not ship out of USA may lose some sales because of that policy.
