I am now confused. I have an auction that is closing in less than 6 hours. the high bidder so far has 40 positives with 3 negatives. the 2 most recent feedbacks are 2 negatives. How can a person still bid after 3 negatives. I thought they were automatically "zapped" from ebay? Yes they are all from different users.
Any thoughts on how to handle this?

They only get 'zapped' if their overall feedback rating is -3 (or is it -4)? Don't panic just yet! What are the negatives he has for? Did he deadbeat? Maybe the seller had unreasonable demands he couldn't meet. Investigate the matter before you worry too much. If you still are uncomfortable with the bidder, cancel their bid.
I research, therefore i learn. I learn, therefore i succeed.

Here is what I see:
"no contact no responce tried 5 times "
The other is:
": No response - no pay "
You are right, the third one is a kind of unusual one

This might sound like a stupid question but can I get in trouble for canceling his bid??? Are there any forms I need to go through to do this, like I do with the NPBs refund????? I hope this makes sense.
Thanks so much for your help.

if he had 3 NPB filed against him he would be gone in your case he could have 20 neg and still be bidding.
this is why you should always file NPB
negs are worhtless they just invite retalition..

Thanks everyone. I don't know why I stressed over doing this. I guess I am just a worrier. I have NEVER canceled someone's bid before.
I have now canceled his bid and black listed him. I hope this will be the end of it.
Thanks to everyone for your input and support!

I disagree...if it wasn't for the negs he would NOT know this is a potential NPB and would NOT be able to cancle the bid BEFORE the auction ended....now would he?

This is a perfect example of why good sellers leave negative feedback. If you don't leave feedback to the deadbeats you are part of the problem.

I have 6 negs in the past 4 years, all from unhappy buyers. I have over 300 positives in the same time frame. Haven't had a neg in about 6 mos. Would you black list me if I bid on one of your auctions?

That means you have aprox. 2% negative feedback this persone has aprox. 8% That is a pretty big diference. Also his are all recent.

Yet another example of feedback getting in the way of profit.
Here's what it comes down to:
(1) He bids. He pays. End of story.
OR
(2) He bids. He doesn't pay. You file NPB and get your money back (claim both parties agreed to cancel transaction). Relist item. End of Story.

I file npb, you file npb ,third npb and he's gone
I neg you neg 25 others neg he stays as long as he stays above -4...
three npbs and a buyer with 2000 pos will be gone
why neg and risk a retalaitory they add up and most bidders just look at the ratio
ohh he has 10 negs better not bid !!!
you see these kind of comments here and on other boards all the time.
will they really take the time to find and analyze your negs or will they pass you by ?
why chance it..
In a perfect world I would agree with you and in my early ebay days I did just that
I'm to pragmatic now

3 NPB does not get a bidder removed from eBay. 3 FVF gets them removed. It does not count against them when sellers "claim both parties agreed to cancel transaction" !!!!

Leaving a negative feedback only leaves one open to receiving the same...is it worth it?...in my opinion...heck no...do something else with the item, resell it, relist it, whatever...just move on...get over it, such is life.

40 / 43 = 93% Positive feedback, so out of
every 100 people he deals with, 93 of them
will be happy. What exactly is your complaint?
Good luck!
Me? I'm at 95% and all Negs are from deadbeats,
because I leave feedback for EVERY high bidder.
