I JUST POSTED THE FOLLOWING INFO. IN ANOTHER THREAD THEN THOUGHT,,DING,,,,,DING BAT. IT'S WORTH A THREAD.

EOA NOTICE FROM E BAY STARTS OUT,,,GOOD NEWS....USELESS.

SO NOW YOU HAVE 400 E BAY CLOSINGS WITH GOOD NEWS IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF YOUR E MAIL.

GOOD NEWS
GOOD NEWS
GOOD NEWS
GOOD NEWS

I WANNA KNOW WHAT AUCTION THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT WHEN THAT POTENTIAL PROBLEM POPS UP.

23456789 SPERM BANK BOTTLE
98765432 ANTI AIRCRAFT CANNON
45678456 MACHINE GUN

NOW, DON'T THAT MAKE MORE SENSE? AND WHEN I AM SEARCHING ALL I CARE ABOUT ARE THE LAST THREE NUMBERS.

Jack

My eBay EOA in Outlook Express has the auction title and item number in the subject line.

Perhaps I did not understand the problem. Could you clarify this for me?

I KEEP ALL MY AUCTIONS INFORMATION IN MY E MAIL FOR 15 DAYS. I FEEL THAT IS MORE THAN ENOUGH TIME TO HAVE GOTTEN IT AND EITHER BE A HAPPY BUYER AND HEAR NOTHING OR,,,,WHERE IS MY "ITEM"? USUALLY WITH JUST THE "ITEM" NUMBER AS ANY CLUE.

IN ACTUALLITY ONCE IT IS SENT IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH E BAY. IT'S A POSTAL/DELIVERY QUESTION. WHAT I REALLY NEED IS THEIR ADDRESS. SELDOM IF EVER DO THEY SEND THAT.

ANYWAY. WITH THAT NUMBER, 567854365 I CAN QUICKLY LOOK FOR THAT NUMBER AND FIND ALL OF OUR CONVERSATIONS. FROM THERE I CAN GET THE BUYERS ADDRESS AND THAT IS WHAT I REALLY WANTED IN THE FIRST PLACE. NOW I GO LOOK AT THE POSTAGE SLIPS AND FIND THAT I SENT IT YESTRDAY AND THAT WAS NOT QUICK ENOUGH,,,,,

YOU MUST EITHER BE ONLY A BUYER OR HAVE NOT SOLD TOO MUCH AT THIS POINT. WHEN YOU SELL 100'S OF AUCTIONS SOME PER WEEK. THAT NUMBER IS A HUGE HELPER. NOT,,,,,,,GOOD NEWS.......

TO ANSWER YOUR SPECIFIC QUESTION THO. IN YOUR END OF AUCTION NOTICE WHICH COMES FIRST THE WAY YOU SET IT UP. THE PRODUCT OR THE NUMBER?

Reading this I guess we all do it differently. I use the email address that eBay supplies with the Good News email and using that to send my WBN the auction number automatically appears in the subject line. I can't complain about that. I don't use an automatic WBN as I like to be personal.

LIBRA,,,,,I GUESS WE ALL DO IT DIFF. YER RIGHT. THIS WILL GO NOWHERE AND I WAS JUST TOLD THAT PEOPLE RAISED CANE WITH E BAY OVER THE "GOOD NEWS" THING ANYWAY TO NO AVAIL. SOME THINGS JUST DON'T MAKE SENSE TO EVERYONE. IT DOES TO ME BUT THIS ONE AIN'T WORTH THE BATTLE.

I USE MY OWN SYSTEM TOO. BUT AS LONG AS E BAY, NOT JUST E BAY, PAY PALS AND AUCTION WATCHES NOTICES MAKE NO SENSE TO ME THAT'S WHY I DO IN A WAY THAT MAKES SENSE,,,MY WAY. HAHAHAHHA.

IN REFERENCE TO MY SIGNATURE. BUT I HAVE MORE COMMON SENSE THAN THEY DO.

I AM ALMOST 6. I RITE WHIFF A KRAON.
AND THE BEAT GOES ON......

THE ONLY THING THAT IS OF ANY IMPORTANCE IN ANY EOA NOTICE IS THE NUMBER. PERIOD.

Jack,

Yes, you are right, I don't sell hundreds of items a week.

I do sell quite a bit so I set my email to flag and color the emails by subject line.

The 1-7 days of the month the EOAs are red; 8-14 blue; 15-21 green; 22-28 the fushia; and 28-31 teal.

Then, they are sorted by folders in the email program.
Auction ended; responded; money; shipped; verified complete.

I do have to remember to change the color in the message rules, but it takes about 3 seconds to do that.

I have too many senior moments not to have a simple, fast system.
