I have a Betty Crockers SmartCook the Essential everyday Cookbook. I don't know anything about books.
On the inside page it says copyright 1988. by Gerneral Mills.
Then there is some other things written, but in two places it says first edition.
Once after the Library of Congress information, then after the Manufactured in the United States with some numbers, then underneath it says again, First Addition.
So, before I listed it, I just wanted to make sure that it is a first addition.
I would think that it is, but I don't want to list it wrong.

If it says First Edition, then it is a First Edition. Does say if this was a first printing? There can be more than one printing of a book & it would still be a first edition if there were no changes made in the text. I have a Fannie Farmer cookbook that is the 13th Edition. The original was published in 1896. I would love to get that one in mint condition!!

It is a second printing, which to a collector is not a "first"
List both.
BTW to a collector there is not an "excellent" condition -- see this site for condition grades:

(Maybe someone can make it a link)

Thank you capotasto for listing the web site for me. I know nothing about book collecting, now atleast I have an idea about how to list the book.
Again, thank you to everyone who helped me.

Here is another site with lots of info on collecting books and identifying first editions. But be warned as there are pop-up ads.
