10" brass cannon from mom's attic with 3" wheels, 10" wooden carriage. The cannon is nearly the same color as the carriage. What should I do?????

Do not polish it. Leave that decision to the high bidder if you decide to sell it.

Dust it off & leave it alone. The decision to remove the patena should be left to the purchaser.
