Is it just me or are there fewer deadbeats than normal? I will probably jinx myself but I have not had a non payer in about 3 months. That is about 150 items sold on eBay and 100 on Yahoo. I think it has a lot to do with taking PayPal because about 75% used them to pay. I think that way the payment gets taken care of right away and keeps it from getting set aside to pay later.

Paypal customers are the best!
I've actually been thinking of offering a discount to paypal buyers, thing is I can't decide on a %.

Have to make it so they want to use it, but not too much as to loose too much!

Anyone have any thing to offer that may help?!

I have noticed each month brings more deadbeats. I liked it when eBay auctually used the term "deadbeats" instead of Non Paying Bidders.

Why offer a discount to Paypal buyers? If anything, I've been considering a discount for checks/money orders. I actually stopped accepting Paypal last week and have not seen any decline in bids. About 6 weeks ago I had my account restricted and I that was a very unpleasant experience. I am at the point where I am receiveing more than $1000 per week in payments and I do not want to risk the money being frozen by Paypal again.

Why offer a discount to Paypal buyers? :

I like the fact that paypal customers usually pay instantly.

I thought a discount may get more to use it.

Most of my paypal customers have their item.
Way before I have received the mail in pymt's from the others!

Just a thought to help get paid quicker!

Well I want to add my 0.02¢ worth to this.

I use Paypal and Billpoint as well.

Last week I decided to send a Billpoint invoice to everyone that won an auction just to see what would happen.

To my amazement many paid using the Billpoint invoice I sent, especially those with 10 feedback and under. Think i'll keep doing it as it's only a few more clicks to do so. Maybe it will help cut down on the number of low feedback bidders that are deadbeats.

As far as the deadbeats go I haven't seen much change in the numbers. I figure I get about 3 - 4 out of every 100 auction wins. About 50% of those eventually pay.
