With over $3000.00 in postage purchased via www.endicia.com, I've NEVER had a single billing bobo!

What happened?

There have been some double charges reported on Saturday 9/15/02 which we are tracking down. These transactions didn't originate from Endicia, but appear to have come from Endicia's intermediate CC processing agents which transfer funds directly to the USPS.

The intermediate agents are www.surepay.com and their parent company First Data Resources.

The charges seem to be copies or replicas of valid purchases on or about 9/10 - 9/11. Since Surepay has no support over the weekend, we won't hear anything until Monday.

Rest assured however, that we will clear this up.

Update: FDMS has indicated the problem is theirs, that they know the bogus transactions, and will issue credit transactions to nullify them. What we don't know yet is the ETA for this to happen.

Harry, thanks for your time. Can you tell me if they will automatically know who was accidentally double-charged, or will each of us need to check into our own records?

Jack

FDMS is telling us that they have a list of the bogus transactions and can reconstruct the credits. We are still awaiting an update from them but I gather we won't hear anything more until tomorrow as they are on the East Coast.

I have also notified USPS HQ about this as the processing contract is actually with USPS and not us.

Update 9/17/02 11:50 AM PST:

This AM we learned that the erroneous charges were generated by the www.surepay.com credit card "gateway" firm. The move transactions between Endicia and FDMS.

They tell us that they have issued counterbalancing credits, but we haven't had this confirmed yet from any of our customers.
