Yahoo is evil, and I say that seriously. Even listing on free listing day is a high risk because you can't be sure if you won't commit a mistake then be permantly be banned from Yahoo without warning and without explaination. It happened to me and there's no reason it couldn't happen to anyone else.

Just stick with ebay, they tend to be more fair.

It's a free shot and a good time to try some of your slow movers at the only other online auction site that has any real bidder traffic.
Ebay announced their 'penny gallery day' and a few days later Yahoo announced their FLD which will be one day before the ebay promotion. Perhaps a little stealing of the competitor's thunder is going on?

I have been selling on Yahoo all summer with great results. I find I do better with buy it now than bids. In 8 weeks I have sold over 150 items 120 with buy it now. I look and see what the item is selling for on eBay and put that as my buy it now price. Saves me a lot of money on fees. I will put on a bunch tomorrow thanks.

quickdraw29 yahoo doesnt suspend anyone for no reason. I have been using them for years and have no problems at all. The problem was sellers not keeping up with the TOS they put into place.

ebay needs some good competition, and this is a good way for them to get it.

Of course Yahoo doesn't choose people at random and suspend them. However, the reason they suspended me was because supposedly I violated the TOS which clearly I did not. They did make assumptions about what I was selling, and those assumptions were incorrect. They did not give me a chance to explain, or show proof that in no way it violated their TOS. I was selling on Yahoo for years too, and I knew what the terms were, that's why I felt confident this item was not in violation. Yea, I was a great supporter of Yahoo just like you, and I learned the hard way how evil Yahoo really is. I was lucky it happened when it did because I was just about to do Yahoo Full Time and leave ebay. A dozen of my buyers have followed me to ebay since I was the only one selling certain items on Yahoo.

quickdraw29 if I were you and made good money on yahoo I would have made another account. Some people who were kicked in the past were victims of other sellers using the neighborhood watch, but now its improved and much better. All they need is a few real customer service people.

I have almost 300 auctions ready to go on to yahoo today - all are duplicates of what I sell on ebay, so this should be interesting. Some have already launched, though. I didn't receive any "your auction has launched" notices/emails. Doesn't yahoo do that?

I don't believe that Yahoo sends out emails for that.

ihula,

It depends on how you launched your items. If you used their bulk loader (spreadsheet) you would receive one, and I think they send one when you use Seller's Manager.

quickdraw,
from your previous posts here, it is a wonder that you haven't been suspended from AW. It is pretty clear why you got suspended. And a violation of terms, I would bet if there were an investigation, it would show you were in violation and refused to correct them when notified. I have had a violation of two in my day and have always been notified of the problem so I can correct it. I guess if I didn't correct them, I would expect to be suspended.
YOU DESERVED WHAT YOU GOT.
