I will be posting a large antique wardrobe up for auction for a friend of mine. Does anyone know of a shipping company that would do a single item such as this.

You can try this outfit or contact yellow freight lines.
Check out some trucking lines near where you live and see what kind of rates they offer.

Before you list this item, check with moving van cos. Also any of the major freight lines. You are going to be shocked at the cost of crating & shipping. I have an antique dreesser that belonged to my ggrtgrandmother. Dates to 1860's. To ship from CA to IL will be in the $700 to 750 area. The crating is $300.00!!
