Congrats to rahyl. I became power seller last night. Didn't do it in 6 months, took me almost 5 years. Although I really didn't go at this until about 1 1/2 yrs ago. Really hadn't thought muc about P.S. one way or another.

Congrats sanmar and gina50! What do you guys sell anyway? I sell comics, collectibles, music systems, toys etc. Mostly comics though! Give me your user ids so I can check out your auctions and maybe learn something from other powersellers
One person from the AW boards bought one of my items yesterday after reading about my auctions over here. Really cool person!

Hello
Nice blip in your life. Don't do anything for you and may be hurtful depending upon your buyers outlook. And yes, I am one too!
That said congratulations on an effort that took a lot of work.

I try to list 10 auctions a day & it really keeps me busy, too busy. I don't know how you power sellers do it, but my hat is off to you, I know how hard you work.

I have a question and I would like an honest answer. Why do you want to be a powerseller?
I have no comments to make about it, I am just inquisitive.

In my mind, 95-99% of the Buyers out there(particularly during the upcoming Christmas shopping season) don't frequent boards like this, don't dislike power sellers like a lot of posters on this board do (Not saying that you're one of these people -- but you know what I mean) and will see a seller that is a power seller as being more trustworthy -- after all, the seller is designated as a "Power Seller" which must mean that he or she is selling a lot of items successfully and isn't as likely to rip them off as a non-power seller.
In addition to that, since you need to maintain a certain feedback rating and sales volume to become a power seller -- there is a certain sense of accomplishment with regards to the success of your business.
I've been an eBay seller for about 4 months now -- I became a power seller a month ago, it was important to me because eBay is my livelihood --- so reaching the sales volume to be a "high rung" power seller was critical in terms of the business being viable and in terms of well, eating.
In the end, it's just validation with regards to the success of your business.

Thanks to all of you. kiara, I turned 74 on Saturday 11/9/02. I fool a lot of people when they find out my age. I have been told many times that I could easily pass for 50!!
rahyl, I sell mainly china, but mix in some collectibles, silver flatware, etc. Just look on eBay search; sanmar. Libra, in answer to your question; Why not?

I was just asking to find out if being a Power Seller is stressful. I don't see any problem with any seller just why someone would want to be one. I read feedbacks, descriptions and have doubt about being one.
I am sure it takes a lot of work not only in buying and selling but all the records that have to be kept. I take my hat off to all of you that can do this. I am not condemning just asking.
