Wouldn't it be great if some service were able to tell us when an item of ours is put on the Ebay watch list?
Does anyone know of any program that can tell us this? We would at least know if anyone is semi-serious about making a purchase. Hits don't seem to mean much these days.

The only source that could give you that information would be eBay. Do you think it would be in eBay's best interest to give the ID's of possible buyers to sellers? I don't see eBay making a mistake of that nature.

I don't want to know "who" has placed my items on a watch list, just "if" they have been placed on a watch list.
If I have 30 hits and no bids, are some waiting to snipe or are they just looking and moving on. If no one is putting it on the watch list then I could go in and revise the title, revise the description, lower the price, etc. because obviously something isn't right if people are looking but not planning on returning.
Who isn't important. Just want to know if anyone is doing more with my listing than browsing.

Yahoo Auctions and Bidville and other auctions have a "Total Times added to a Watchlist:" function on every auction but of course you never know who put your item on their watchlist. It usually doesn't matter because sellers can monitor an auction to see how the item fares if they have a similar item they want to sell in the near future. Half of my ebay watchlist is for items that I'm tracking for that very reason with no intention of buying.
Epier does a weird thing that is practical only at a low traffic site, they email the seller whenever there is a bid placed on one of their items.
