I just semi mastered making fotos unclickable. Is there a way to make the entire auction description unclickale or should I say, someone can't copy and paste from your auction?

Thanks so much

I justed clicked on View on my internet explorer and clicked on cource . HUMMMM now which is it?????

I just tried it on one of my auctions I was setting up and it didnt work. That will be great when I learn how to set up my own web page. I know I saw one last night where the entire auction was unclickable. I just wish I knew how.

unless you sell the same thing over and over why would you want to....

I don't understand the terriotorial attitude on auction descriptions or pictures for that matter....

If a seller sells the same items or type items and reuses their description and pics, I understand that...

But if a seller is like me and will probably never sell the same thing again, what's the big deal??

The description is only a set of words, not a pulitzer prize or great novel that should be guarded...so what's the deal???

I have only seen one or two descriptions that are works of art...the Barbie series being one...the others are just WORDS!

I know but it just seems like fun to do. I have seen others do it and I was just wondering how it was done!

Here's a fairly recent AW thread on it.

Sometimes it's good to have the code in the HTML because most stuff doesn't sell on the first go at ebay.

You may not be able to view source with the right mouse click but the view in the toolbar and the source option defenitely reveals the HTML coding.

Even if you make it unclickable, it does not prevent anyone from stealing your pages or text. All they have to do is highlight it and hit Ctrl+c. That copies it to your clipboard. They then can paste it anywhere, revise it or use it. If they are savvy with other programs like FrontPage they can just edit your whole page from Internet Explorer and get the pictures also.

Most can still go to View, Source on the toolbar and get the link to your picture. Copy that link and paste it in the address bar, they now have access to your picture. They might have to search for it in the HTML coding but it is there. It doesn't matter if a person uses frames, tables, style sheets or any other thing.

Anyone can download programs off the internet just to “grab” pictures or copy web pages. They are easy to use and people friendly.

Sorry if I seem harsh but that is reality. If you want it for yourself and yourself alone, put your mark on it. It takes to much time to clean up a picture with a name or stamp on it. Make sure it is in a place where it can not be cropped out. If you use an editing program to view your pictures, it only takes a minute to put your initials or company logo on it. You can do this as you are making sure your pictured is usable.

Here is a link to eBay's policy on this thought:
