I hope that someone can help. Ebay's customer support really sucks big time. I got an email from them confirming an email change that I never made. I went to Ebay and tried to sign in and it said that my account had been suspended due to "violation of the user agreement". I have no idea what is going on. It went on to say that an email had been sent to my "new" email address that I have never seen before.

I went to their support page and it is one big circle. There are no answers to my questions and no place where I can submit a question dealing with my issue.

I know that they bought PayPal out and now it looks like they are getting just as screwed up as PayPal. I hate PayPal, but I hope that Ebay doesn't get as sorry as PayPal.

I would post this on the auctionwatch community thread, the auctionwatch help desk employees monitors it, and they may have a quick and correct answer for you.
Computers are a fantastic thing for all of us, they help us out so much, but if something goes wrong, a glich or whatever, there is no forgiveness.

Maybe try this: Click on "Help" at the top of any ebay page. Then click on "My account" and there is a link for "Suspended account" and state your problem there.

Or you may have clicked on a link in one of the phoney e=mails going around?

Good luck.

I've always found the quickest way to get suspended on ebay is to have an invalid email address. The next quickest way is for a seller to have bad credit card info that ebay can no longer bill you with.

Thanks for your input. I was finally able to get to the point where I could compose a message to Ebay which I did. Hopefully, I will hear something shortly.

As far as the comments that have been made so far, I didn't use an invalid email address. It's the one I've had for a year now. I also haven't listed anything for sale there for a long time and have no outstanding charges to them that haven't been paid. I have an almost perfect feedback rating except for this one jerk from whom I bought something and left him neutral feedback and he left negative in retaliation. The email linked me to Ebay and my account was restricted, so it must have been genuine.

I wonder if it has something to do with the problem where they lost 30,000 accounts in the PayPal database. They now own PP and maybe it is linked to that???? I don't know.

Thanks guys.

That 30,000 lost paypal accounts email was a scam, if you clicked on anything in that email, that may be where your all of your problems are coming from.

I seem to recall hearing recently that eBay will suspend any account that is inactive for six months.

That's a scam e-mail (trying to steal your password) that has recently been making the rounds.

Marmac2002: Check your recently completed auctions to see if they are all yours. It is possible that your account was hijacked and the e-mail address changed so you wouldn't be alerted.
