I have always hated my eBay seller name! I just started using my husband's id when i started selling and here I am today, 9 months lster, with over 1500 positive feedbacks and still hating the name! I have seen sellers with sunglasses on and lots of feedbacks so I suppose you can keep the feedbacks when you change your name? I have several repeat buyers..would it be considered "spam" if I contacted them to give them my new id? Or maybe it's not worth it. One more question...how do you use another name here for posting or am I stuck with this ugly name here too because that is how i registered?..oh and one more thing...I used his id for my paypal account too and now all my WBN go out in HIS name and they won't even talk to me when I have technical issues with PayPal!! Bunch of MCP's if you ask me!

You're stuck with your AW Community posting name. Most message boards do not allow name changing. Getting a new AW ID and abandoning the old one is the only way to change the ID and that usually entails signing up for a free trial AW paid account with a credit card.

I am assuming you have your own email address? If so, then open a new Paypal account in your own name. It will take a few days to get it verified through your bank account.

Then go ahead and change your ebay Id name, the feedback will follow with you.

You will have to remove that id from your husbands paypal account and add the new one to your account so that the logos can be added to your sales.

I am not sure that you can have the same auction id with more than one paypal account though..hopefully someone else can answer or you could post that question in the AW partners paypal chat board.

You're stuck with your AW Community posting name.

Not necessarily so. My advice is to e-mail AW and ask them and they will make the final decision. Usually they allow a name change but you start out all over again with 0 posts if someone clicks on your name here. Many people, including myself have done that over the years, some of us because of auction interference and others just because they want a different name.

If you change your ebay ID your past customers will find you for 30 days if they follow your old ID. They can also see the name change in their feedback.

If you truly hate your seller name perhaps it is best to change it now instead of having to look at it all the time. I have seen lots change their names and it doesn't seem to affect their auctions.

You can have several e-mail addresses associated with one PayPal account. To add an address, go into your account, click on "Profile" and then click on "e-mail" in the left column.

Once that is done, any payments sent to any of the e-mail addresses will go into the same PayPal account. You will also be able to access the account by keying in any of the e-mail addresses (plus your password of course).

stockticker, read the original post again. the Paypal account is in her husbands name and they won't deal with her when there are problems and all the notices bidders get haver her husbands name on them, not hers.

She needs her own account.

That doesn't make any sense. The PayPal EOA notices bidders receive will be for eBay auction ID with the e-mail address being the one that is associated with that eBay ID.

I know because I have two eBay IDs associated with one PayPal account, with each ID associated with a different e-mail addresse. When I used PapPal'e EOA notification system, the e-mails used the appropriate e-mail address associated with each ID.

Neglus, is the e-mail address associated with your eBay ID your own e-mail address or your husband's?

I don't even use any of the automatic EOAs at all. I get those PP notices all the time when I when auctions and most of the time the seller does not have the s/h cost so they are totally worthless and make the seller look like an idiot.

The problem is that we set up the PayPal account in my husband's name because he was the active ebay user (before I started selling) but used MY email address because he travels so often and couldn't stay on top of his auctions. Similarly, we set up eBay with my email address...had no idea PayPal was gong to be such a stickler! I had problems this week accessing my history in PayPal and they would not talk to me about it and husb has been in Australia for 3 weeks! Finally I started an email correspondence that more or less resolved the history problem.
