I got the following email from a powerseller that won one of my auctions. I am beyond steamed...I am volcanic.

"I am very sorry, I am a seller also, and I know how horrible is when people
don't pay for your auction, but unfortunately I have to pass on these boots
I was looking at boots with my Husband since I am going to Europe in a week and I need one pair, and I liked it, but never read about it. My Husband bid and won the boots for me, only to find out they are not leather. I wouldn't mind but I have allergies and the only shoes I can wear on my feet is leather or fabric. I am more than happy to pay your loss but I can't pay for
the boots....
Very sorry again. And as a seller like to know how did you send reminder letter with Ebay, when the auction has not been ended more than 10 days ago, Ebay wont let you send it unless it has been 10 days......

The boots are fabric. The auction did not mention "leather" anywhere. What the @##$!!! type of shoes could she get that aren't fabric or leather. Did buy shoes made of plaster or peanuts or the PLAGUE!

I usually just file for my fee credit and keep going. This chick is going to get negged and how.

I just need to calm down and maximize my words. Sellers that pull this crap pis* me off. This is the second powerseller in 3 days that has done this.

edited for italics, spelling and everything else...I am that mad.

How about the guy who bids on four lots and wins, in two sale then pays for one lot and ignores all e-mails about the rest?

Just do your routine. I find high count buyers /sellers sometimes are as stupid as the newbies.

Just sit back and give yourself time to think clear headed. As much as this can pizz one off, never forget deadbeats come from any corner.
The worst part is if they are also sellers. Treat them like any other deadbeat, file for fees, leave npb and wait to neg later if you so desire.
I would just sent another email stating the cost for item plus shipping and let them know that they are free to resell the boots on their own time.

Ask her to pay all fees associated with the auction plus 25% "pain in the ass" fee for your time. If she don't pay, neg the hell out of her.

No way! Make this twit pay the bill in full! Show no mercy to a deadbeat.

trai is absolutely right. she is a seller and knows the rules...

she can resell them if she wants but she knows that she and hubby entered a contract to buy when they bid.

tell her you are holding her responsible just the same as she would you if the "shoe" were on the other foot.

I told her in my response that I expected her to pay, since the boots are fabric and her "allergies" won't be affected.

She wrote back to say that I wasn't nice and that she could send some money to cover my fees

"which we know wont cost you anything since Ebay will refund you.... My Husband never read the description...he bid, I on the other hand read it and saw it's not leather. They look like leather and I am assuming that's why my husband didn't even read the description.

I wrote back that ebay did not refund my listing fees. No, I am not nice to deadbeats. I also pointed out, again, that the boots are fabric and according to her, would not affect her allergies.

I asked her if her "husband" would bid on a something that looked like a diamond without reading to see if it was glass.

The boots do not look like leather either. There are 6 excellent photos and they do not look like leather in any of them.

She ignored my end of auction email for 7 days. She only emailed me because, ebay sent her the payment reminder.

She is trying to weasel out of paying and not getting the FVF filed against her. I plan to file one anyway. I don't want her to pay my fees now. I would rather eat the listing fee and let it be on record that she did not pay. I have a feeling that she has done it before.

Did you check to see what else she is bidding on? Did she buy other boots at a lower cost?

If she tries to pull this on a seller, can't you just imagine how she treats her buyers. Hit her on the FVF. If it's her third, she's toast and the only way she can be reinstated is if you contact ebay and "forgive" her. That's the time to negotiate price with her.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

Okay, this has gotten interesting...her last letter is below.

"I think I just figured out why is your auctions bidders are private
You are selling everybody who bid on your auction off eBay I think I will
have someone look into that, since there is no reason to make it private
The other thing, if you so smart, and you are not selling off eBay than you
would have simply send a second chance offer to the next bidder and I would
have cover the cost different since it was $1.00!!!!
Why do you think I am a complete idiot? I will report to Ebay to look into
your auctions a little closer and the bidders lists since I do suspect you
are selling outside of eBay with items you have on auction. If that would
not be the case, after I send email and let you know I am sorry for the
mistake you would offer the boots to the next bidder, all it takes is click
on the second chance offer!!! or you didn't know about that?????)))
Common! Here is from your selling page, can you read it, because I sure
can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and this if from the front selling page:

CLICK< CLICK< CLICK>.....ONE CLICK!! hard work, can you do it? Or you
already did it??? Trust me Ebay can get the email address for your second
and third and even forth buyer, and email them and ask if they have received
offer from you in email, and guess what if they have, you are in trouble! I
will get ONE non-paying on my record, you under other hand will be
suspended! GOOD LUCK!"

She is pretty stupid since, with private auctions, I can only see the high bidder. I have no idea as to who the other bidders are.

All of my items start at the price I want and the BIN price is usually the same. Many of my auctions end with BIN or 1 bidder.

The truly funny thing is that, my about me page says, I usually only get 1 or 2 in each size. I buy from the manufacturer and that is the way they pack the cases. If I wanted to sell outside ebay, I don't have the extras available to do so.

I have never used the second chance feature, not even sure it works with private auctions, and I won't start for her. I relist and move on.

She has not mentioned her "allergies" again, since I pointed out the boots were fabric.

She also sent me another email that she said was proof that people did not read auctions before bidding. She claimed it was from someone who did not pay her.

I think that she has had more than one alert filed against her and she is nervous.

Those smilie things that have appeared in my post are due to the fact that I cut and pasted her letter exactly as she sent it. She had ": )" in the spots where the smilies appear.
