I recently sold a Laptop Backpack that I didnt know much about on ebay for a friend of mine . The winner now tells me that the backpack is "useless" because something that is called a racksystem that is supposed to be in it wasnt there. Since I didnt know much about the backpack I was selling, I assumed it was a simple backpack with a thick piece in the middle for where the laptop is to sit. She has now informed me that the racksystem is supposed to be a rack like thing that goes in the other compartment for seperating books and papers and things. I thought the racksystem was the thick part that seperates the laptop from the books. She is requesting that I refund her the money because she emailed me and asked me if it had the racksystem, and as I said before I thought that was the laptop portion was the racksystem. BUT there are pictures in the auction that clearly show was is included. I also stated that this backpack sells AS IS. This is still a very nice laptop backpack and the price she paid for it is much cheaper than if it were to be bought brand new. What should I do? Any advice, hit me up. -Peace

If she emailed you first (before the auciton ended) to ask if the rack system was there? And you answered??? "Yes" even though you didnt know for sure 'what it was', then you gave a mistaken answer and that would void the 'as is' in your auction since they asked you a specific question about what they were receiving.

You should get it returned and refund the money if they want.

AGREE WITH KAMDENS, BUYER ASKED VALID QUESTION, YOU ANSWERED "YES" AND NOW YOU SHOULD REFUND ALL HER MONEY INCLUDING SHIPPING.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO SELL SOMETHING YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH, YOU SHOULD SAY SO IN THE AUCTION.

As you can see now, it really is important to know what you are selling. If you don't know the ins and outs of a particular item, go out of your way in the auction stating so.

I think I would try to find a description of just what a back pack "rack system" is supposed to be, and just what that particular back pack is supposed to include. The BUYER may be mistaken just as easily as the seller.

Your buyer is right. The rack system is like an organizer that distributes the weight of the books/papers that a student carries. It is removable. This "raksystem backpack" is supposed to alleviate back troubles from carrying too heavy of a load. Here is a link to the website that makes them :

Hope this helps
