Hello everyone.

I just had a quick question.

In the auctions I list on eBay, I state that my customers can pay with PayPal but that there is a minimum payment of $4.99 when using this type of payment option.

Some of my listings start out at/below $4.99 while others start out at/over $4.99

My question. Is it against eBay's rules to state that there is a minimum when using PayPal?

Thanks in advance.
Phil

Phil >> I don't think so...sounds okay to me. Is that 4.95, not including shipping?

The only problem you will run into is that bidders will only see the paypal part and not the minimum.

Be sure to put this in bold type in your tos. Might help, but will not stop bidders from sending you payment via P.P.

Is it againts ebays rules? No.

It is against mastercard and visa rules if they use their credit card.

If mastercard and visa do not allow it, neither will paypal.

Of course, what they don't know...

one way to reduce the paypal fee is to get a paypal debit card and start spending,it will give you a rebate.
i spent 63 dollars at office depot and get 93 cents back, someone i know gets 97 cents interest from her paypal balance of 700 dollars.go figure,

stopwhining: I have been preaching this for a year. I buy supplies, gas, etc on my debit card. Get a 1% rebate plus interest on my balance. Cuts my cost to pratically nothing

expo/home depot refunded 100 dollars to my paypal card and somehow never land in my account??so it is too late by the time i find out it is not home depot fault??so debit card does not work as well as the credit card.

I sell postcards, maps, books, and similar stuff. To deal with Paypal charges on lower-priced items such as postcards, I put this in my TOS: "We cannot afford to accept Paypal or other electronic payments for postcards." I haven't received any complaints. No, I don't know how many sales I have lost, but I'm doing OK. For items with a listing price of $10 or more, I state "Paypal accepted". I tend to base my listing prices based on what others are asking for similar items.

Sanmar: to use the debit card you have to
keep a fairly large balance in your PayPal
account, correct? You REALLY trust PayPal
that much? I sure don't. I'll keep paying
the extra little bit in exchange for the
peace of mind that they can't access more
than $20.00 of MY money at any one time.
